Best kept in an aggressive non-reef environment with tankmates that will grow to be very large, the Pseudobalistes fuxcus or Bluelined Triggerfish grows to 22 inches. A beautifully colored fish as a juvenile, the Blueline Triggerfish adults tend to become belligerent in attitude and subdued in color. Tends to aquascape your tank for you in search of invertebrates and will often chase and nip fish that get too close. Tends to be regarded as a menace and will inflict a serious bite if it gets a chance. Will gladly consume ornamental fish and sample stony, soft corals and other fish. Will often make a grunting sound.
Maximum Size: the Pseudobalistes fuscus grows up to 22 inches.
Minimum Tank Size: The Blueline Trigger prefers a tank of at least 200 gallons with plenty of places to hide & swim.
Diet: The Pseudobalistes fuscus is a carnivore and likes to eat variety of meats (fish, scallop, shrimp, squid, clam) & veggies.
Level of Care: The Blueline Trigger is a low maintenance fish.
Behavior: The Blueline Trigger may act aggressively toward other fish.
