The Copperband Butterfly is often purchased to help eradicate Aiptasia Anemones in the Reef Aquarium. Chelmon rostratus, (Linnaeus 1758), the Copperband Butterflyfish or Beaked Coralfish. The Copperband Butterfly is also known to pick at most Large Polyp Stony coral polyps, Feather Dusters and Fanworms as food. |
Maximum Size: the Chelmon rostratus grows up to 8 inches. Minimum Tank Size: The Copperband Butterfly prefers a tank of at least 80 gallons with plenty of places to hide & swim. Diet: The Chelmon rostratus is a carnivore and likes to eat variety of meaty treats. Level of Care: The Copperband Butterfly is a medium maintenance fish. Behavior: The Copperband Butterfly may act peacefully toward other fish. Water Conditions: Keep water quality high (SG 1.020 – 1.025, pH 8.1 – 8.4, Temp. 72 – 78 F). Range: Indo-Pacific. |
