Eiblii Mimic Tang
Acanthurus pyroferus
The Juvenile Eiblii Mimic Tang mimics that of the less palatable spiny Eiblii Angelfish (Centropyge eibli). Will lose coloration as an adult and gain a brownish olive color. Excellent for algae control in reef aquaria. May fight with other tangs.
Maximum Size: the Acanthurus pyroferus grows up to 10 inches.
Minimum Tank Size: The Eiblii Mimic Tang prefers a tank of at least 100 gallons with plenty of places to hide & swim.
Diet: The Acanthurus pyroferus is a herbivore and likes to eat Dried Seaweed (best), marine algae, mysid shrimp, Spirulina, Romaine Lettuce (blanched) , fresh seaweed, and other meaty treats.
Level of Care: The Eiblii Mimic Tang is a medium maintenance fish.
Behavior: The Eiblii Mimic Tang may act peacefully toward other fish.
Hardiness: This is a hardy fish.
Range: Indo-Pacific.
