Centropyge acanthops (Norman 1922), even more orange than the sympatric Centropyge argi and Centropyge aurantonotus. The African Pygmy Angel can be easily discerned as the only one of the three with a light colored, yellow-transparent caudal fin. Able to get along with other Pygmy Angels in a tank of at least 75 Gallons or more, due to territoriality. |

Minimum Tank Size: The Flameback Angel – African prefers a tank of at least 20 gallons with plenty of places to hide & Diet: The Centropyge acanthops is a omnivore, picking at sessile invertebrates, and various micro algae and likes to eat marine algae, mysid shrimp, Spirulina, and other meaty treats. Level of Care: The Flameback Angel – African is a medium maintenance fish. Behavior: The Flameback Angel – African may act semi-aggressively toward other fish. Hardiness: This is a fairly hardy fish.
