Pomacanthus semicirculatus (Cuvier 1831), the Koran or Semicircle Angelfish. A beauty from throughout its wide range.Full size angels should not be mixed with other full size angels, unless it is in a tank of at least 180 gallons. A favorite of Aquarists for a long time, the Koran Angel is a beautiful specimen for the fish only aquarium. Juveniles adapt better to the Aquarium, although adults will usually adapt as well. The Koran Angel has been successfully kept with other full sized Angels, as long as a tank of 100 gallons or more is used. |
Maximum Size: the Pomacanthus semicirculatus grows up to 15 inches. Minimum Tank Size: The Koran Angel prefers a tank of at least 100 gallons with plenty of places to hide & swim. Diet: The Pomacanthus semicirculatus is a omnivore and likes to eat veggies, meats, and angel preparations, sponge, algae. Level of Care: The Koran Angel is a medium maintenance fish. Behavior: The Koran Angel may act semi-aggressively toward other fish. Water Conditions: Keep water quality high (SG 1.020 – 1.025, pH 8.1 – 8.4, Temp. 72 – 78 F). Range: West Indo- Pacific, Red Sea and East Africa to Fiji, north to southern Japan, south to Western Australia. |
