Calloplesiops altivelis, Steindachner 1903, the Comet or Marine Betta. A shy species that requires a dark cave and peaceful tankmates to thrive.

Maximum Size: the Calloplesiops altivelis grows up to 8 inches.

Minimum Tank Size: The Marine Betta Grouper prefers a tank of at least 60 gallons with plenty of places to hide & swim.

Diet: The Calloplesiops altivelis is a carnivore and likes to eat variety of live foods (shrimp & fish).

Level of Care: The Marine Betta Grouper is a low maintenance fish.

Behavior: The Marine Betta Grouper may act aggressively toward other fish.

Hardiness: This is a hardy fish.
