Gobies may sometimes attempt jump out. Needs places to burrow. Prefer presence of substrate. Ptereleotris evides, Jordan & Hubbs 1925, the Blackfin Dartfish. To nearly six inches in length. Unusual for tending to swim away from divers rather than dart into burrows. Prefers to school.

Maximum Size: the Ptereleotris evides grows up to 5.5 inches.

Minimum Tank Size: The Scissortail Goby prefers a tank of at least 20 gallons with plenty of places to hide & swim.

Diet: The Ptereleotris evides is a carnivore and likes to eat brine & mysid shrimp and other meaty treats (a few times/day).

Level of Care: The Scissortail Goby is a low maintenance fish.

Behavior: The Scissortail Goby may act peacefully toward other fish.

Water Conditions: Keep water quality high (SG 1.020 – 1.025, pH 8.1 – 8.4, Temp. 72 – 78 F).

Range: Indo-Pacific.

Breeding: Able to breed.
