  1. jus got back from kwang, got meself 2 skunks at $7 each. just arrived many today, but i bought those old stock. no fireeshrimp thouhg
  2. chris, wats your flow like. how wide u open the tap? i been using the prism for at least a mth already. i do get solid gunk on the funnel walls. but the skimmate still watery and brownish at best.
  3. i made sure the are no bubbles in the water inlet tube before changing to the air intake plug. i have to set to pretty low flow in order not to let it overflow. furthermore, the skimmate is still kind of watery. just light brown color.
  4. well, i do cringe sometimes when i hear the price. not really worth going there for me, as i stay rather far. anyway, i find that its a must for LFS owner to be knowledgable. its not an option. and to charge more jsu becos of the knowledge is pretty much hogwash i think
  5. haha.. it think its worht a rat's ###### skims salt water most of the time flowrate alrady set to very low, nearly closed, still overflow

went to eye lighting to get mh bulb 2 weeks ago, but found out that there are no 10k mh bulbs. can anyone advise which brand 10k 150w SE is good and where to get it. can the 150w ballast(may+christie) from eye lighting be used? components consisit of the ballast, a capacitor and an ignitor
  7. well, HL used to sell cleaner at $8 and fireshrimp at $9. now its almost double.
  8. been to kwangs and reborn last week. no cleaners. only camels at reborn HL shrimps are said to be from sri lanka. big shrimps, big price.
  9. lookign for skunk cleaners and fireshrimps. HL has those but the price a tad steep. anyone has any idea where to get them? for maybe $8-10
  10. poly filter doesn really absorb no3 in sw tank. got this from the website: Poly-FilterĀ® may sorb some nitrate (NO3-) ions in freshwater. In natural or synthetic seawater nitrate (NO3-) ions cannot be retained by any chemical filtration media due to sulfate ions leaching action. Anytime the sulfate ions exceed 40 mg/L this nitrate leaching back out of filter media is observed. Poly-FilterĀ® sorbs many organic wastes that are converted into nitrates thereby lowering nitrate formation
