  1. Would like to know if prosumer camera is able to capture photos like below. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y141/billyboswell/Anthias5.jpg If so, would like to know which prosumer camera you would recommend. P.S. Pls. don't ask me to go for a DSLR.
  2. anaerobic bacteria are found in environment with little or no oxygen. One of these places is deep within big pieces of LR. You don;t need flow in your sump for that.
  3. OHF is usually meant for fresh water rather than marine. If your concern is pump taking up space in your tank, then get a hang on back filter.
  4. It's a hybrid system Interesting concept. Something like a Toyota Prius. But I think turning off the fan is not gonna save much in relative electricity cost. Better to keep fan running 24/7. I think It'll simplify your setup, & minimise electrical faults.
  5. i have some too, location in Katong
  6. BTW, noisy fan have been removed by previous owner.
  7. Have the above for sale. Have been using this 2nd hand lighting for pass 2 years with no problem. The white LED suddenly goes off last night. Left with all the blue LED still working. Friend tells me it could be a blown LED that cuts off the circuit, but I'm not good at electricity to fix it myself. Will let go to those who likes to DIY on lighting. Letting go at only $80 Condition : 5/10 Note : Comes complete with mounting bracket & LED lenses. Cash & carry. Collection is possible after evening on weekdays. Separate arrangement possible on weekends. Location in the East Pls. PM me if interested.
  8. fish collected. thread closed.
  9. I'm using Aquabee 2000/1 for my return. No complains so far.
  10. Size : 1 inch + Condition : healthy Collection at Katong area. Pls. PM me your contact number if interested.
  11. 6 inches of IOS does not seem to offer sufficient space to house equipment for your SPS tank.
  12. Minimum tank to sump height will be when both are placed next to each other, which is equivalent to an IOS system with built-in sump. Then the return pump can be scaled down as there's minimal head loss.
  13. Mud don't need lights, neither does tank cycling.
  14. Item 2, 3, 5, 7, 8 will take up space in your overflow compartments. IMO, A 2x1x1.5 does not allow for much space for them. Do consider using a separate sump tank.
  15. Thanks for those who've shown interest. The tank has been collected. Thread closed.
  16. Hi, Iv'e just decomm my 2ft cube over the weekend. No leaks. Will clear for $50 on FCFS basis. No reservation. Buyer pls. arrange your own movers & transport. Collection near Katong during weekdays after 6:30pm or separately arranged schedule over weekend. Pls. PM me for collection address if interested.
  17. QQ placement is for in-tank, whereas E3 is hang-on -back. If your tank is IOS design, fitting a QQ where the water level in the compartment is stable would be good.
  18. Kindly PM me your address & cellphone so that I can make arrangement with you for collection & return. Thanks
  19. Hi, My replacement 2 ft cube is arriving soon. I need a few jerry cans to temporary hold the water while I swap existing tank+cabinet with the new setup. My total water volume is about 264 litres. If you're willing to lend me your jerry cans, I will come by to pick it up and return to you after this exercise. Barring some unexpected accident, I plan to complete the swap over within a weekend. Thank you,
  20. The devil is in the details, here I mean IOS sump compartment detail. Firstly, figure out what equipment you need to house in the IOS. These equipment will require the IOS to have sufficient space to fit them in. I'm not a fan of hang-on-back equipment as they they then to leak over time. It's ultimately your choice. (1) IOS pre-filters typically uses filter wool. If you want filter sock instead, then the tank maker will need to do some customized bracket and tray to direct water from the overflow comb into the sock. (2) Skimmer dimension + baffle to remove fine bubbles. (3) FR dimension? (4) chiller pump (optional)? (5) return pump + piping? Having consider above, if you cannot fine an off-the-shelf tank with IOS to accommodate them, then the only route is to have a customized tank. Then, might as well get tank maker to do up the cabinet as well for a perfect fit.
