In other words, people, while understanding the current situation, have also become more wary of 'suspicious' Islamic characters. Therefore, the line between extremists and Islam has been blurred. The view of Singaporeans may have changed after the terror attacks.
1)Has it achieved its aims of preventing threats to national security from developing in the first instance or does these checks merely serve to divide the community?
2) Are the checks on suspicious characters biased against Malays?
Someone please clarify my doubts and state your personal experiences. Are these checks really neccesary? Or do they serve as a basis for people to look at Islam with another point of view?

Although i never tried the berlin method but here is a brief explaination of how isit like. Hope they are of some help to you.
The nitrates that conventional filters leave behind in a marine aquaria can be dealt with by using the Berlin Method. This system uses a protein skimmer, a mechanical filter, lots of water movement and 'live' rock.
The mechanical filter is just that. Its job is to get rid of solid wastes from the tank. A powerful external filter does the job well and has the added bonus of producing lots of water movement. Something that turns over the tank volume two to three times an hour should do the trick. This filter must be kept purely mechanical i.e. the media should be replaced or cleaned in tap water to kill any bacteria at least once a week. This is essential to keep the nitrogen cycle (biological filtration) in balance.
The biological filter takes the form of live rock. This porous rock comes complete with a population of bacteria, sponges and tube worms all of which help to clean and filter the water. The bacteria in particular form a balanced community of bugs that will convert ammonia to nitrite, nitrite to nitrate AND, in the oxygen starved interior of the rock further bacteria convert the nitrates to oxygen and free nitrogen gas. It is because this is a balanced community relying on the percolation of water through porous rock that we must restrict the amount of biological activity produced elsewhere.
If your mechanical filter becomes 'live' it will produce extra nitrate which the rock will not be able to cope with. The tank water obviously needs to be in contact with the rock and this is the reason you need lots of water movement, from your power filter but also some additional pumps or powerheads.
This system has a lower stocking level for fish than a fish only system but you can keep corals and other invertebrates in this kind of tank.
Supplementing with supplements will keep ur corals in good health but do perform testing before dosing.

Sorry, because i have sps in my tank. That's y. I don't test my magnesium level. Is this very critical?? The mag. testkit cost a bomb.
Ur thread is very general, anybody can also be havin high Ca....low dkh in their system, be it a lps, sps or mix reef. Frm wat i c, u r juz experiencin screw-up water condition.
Unless u r facing prob with ur sps or any sps related issues then it deem appropriate to be posted in this sps section.
Anyway, back to ur question. If u r wanna keep and willin to spend on sps. Then dun thrift on buyin the neccessary test kit.
A CR will be ur ticket to a less hassle free tank once its properly tuned but of coz there r "more than meet the eyes".

I would go with the same config, but using one reflector on the left and one on the right... that way the colours from the lamps can blend a little easier.
i second ur thoughts.....if i were to do like wat reefer_guy had mentioned.
For a 6.5ft, 2 MH infront is definitely nt enough to cover frm left to right but u get good coverage from front to back. The best scenario would be 8 x MH
. 4 infront and 4 at the back. Or y nt go abit more extreme, 
5 infront and 5 at the back. I believe the blendin of 6.5k and 20k will look great.
