I have 2 sets of 6-fans each on a day rotating shift on my 4 footer. Each is attached with its own timer and they are switched off in the night. They cool my water temp lower by between 1-2 degrees. As for the noise, if your house is quiet like mine, there will definitely be a noticeable hum. For my case, the noise from just 1 fan is kind of irritating already as I am use to living in a peaceful and quiet environment.

Ocean Free brand has one of these fans....between 90-99 bucks per set.
