  1. its topic something go like this

Setting Up a New Reef Aquarium - How I Did It!

Note: This article is actually about a year old, and was originally published in a different online magazine. I am reprinting it in this forum since it might interest beginning hobbyists. The tank discussed in this article is now 12 months old, and actually the "AquaC prototype II" tank shown on the About Us page. I've had great success with this tank and all the SPS species have shown considerable growth during the last year. Several Acropora fragments have increased in branch size by as much

i still reading it lol a lot of things to read on

  2. i manage to find some info on small reef tank vs big reef tank

    very interesting

Sps cant keep in small tanks..not really...see how those ang mo have

    successs in keeping ,,,,,

first start of in light for SPS here go....

First of all, smaller tanks are much easier to illuminate. High intensity lighting, a must for SPS corals, is extremely costly. Small tanks, which are reduced in length and shorter in height, require less sophisticated lighting set-ups. Since the photosynthetically active wavelengths of light are greatly attenuated with increasing water depth, lower-wattage bulbs can produce the same affect in a short tank that higher intensity ones might provide in a larger aquarium. Your electricity bill won't skyrocket nearly as high, and, when that time inevitably rolls around, bulb replacement should not bring tears to your eyes. Smaller tanks can also make do with some of the miniature versions of the ultra-efficient protein skimmers on the market, and will require less

    live rock.

Another benefit of small tanks is circulation. The water movement over a natural coral reef is strong! Tidal surge, currents, and turbulence make for extremely powerful water flow. This wave action cleanses corals of sediment, mucus, and debris, and serves as a transport for scarce nutrients and oxygen. Without a doubt, the importance of water flow/circulation is one thing that all but the most advanced aquarists realize. In a small tank, the strong laminar (flow in one direction, or along a single vector) flow produced by powerheads can be easily manipulated into healthy turbulence. By aiming a few strategically placed powerheads directly at each other, you can fill every nook and cranny of the tank with exceptional water motion.

  3. it is better u check on the care of those fishes before buying

    them.... :D

The Moorish Idol has the notoriety of being a difficult fish to keep, and rightly so. It is an extremely sensitive fish to care for when it comes to feeding and water quality.

In regards to the second most important factor in keeping this fish, water quality, the Moorish Idol is very sensitive to the slightest increase in ammonia levels and changes in pH. Taking both the time to properly acclimate this fish into an aquarium, and follow regular aquarium maintenance routines to ensure good environmental conditions are of the utmost importance to its survival

  4. i think fishes from the start once they reach into our tank

tehy are short of vitamins and so on that no matter how good

our system are ...we always cant duplicate what nature supply for them....

therefore they are open to disease...\

so i guess the best is to when they are new into the tank

should provide them wiht all those vitamins

that needed to fight off virus or so ever

it will be a bit too late when they have infected

then finding a solution for it

Prevention is always better then cure

    just my point of view

  5. it seems very trouble esp tehy like to hide in the holes of those live rocks that u have

maybe u can try to set up a trap for this small little guys

use those small coke bottle, cut into half

seal up the back of the front bottle with a net or so

then place some market prawn inside the bottle

guess this little crabs will be attracted into the bottle

once they get in dun think they can escape so easily

    have luck in trying that

    :D

  6. but heard that tehy also get downgraded

used to have one 302 next to my camp

    in a admin dept

    kekekke

very tall sia always put make up

she told me that she keke hang around changi side one

want to be a tourist guide after ORD

geeze whether where he/she will bring the tourist to sia

    :o
