  14. if i am not wrong you still need to cycle your "new" 4 ft tank... perhaps speed up cycling process by seeding it with a large portion of your existing 2' tank water and sandbed and filter media etc etc etc..... as you are increasing volume of your tank you would need to increase the amt of bacterias found in your new tank so as to meet the needs of your increased bioload....

  21. bought 3 purple flame gobies each about 2" length according to lfs advice more than a week ago. All of them are eating well and healthy... two of my gobies have paired up and often seen swimming together. these few days they are often spotted to be kissing or pushing each other with their lips. a point to note is that they are not hurting each other in any other way. wonder if this is a normal sign? anyone knows how to tell a male from a female? advice, anyone??
  22. just to add... a good protein skimmer may pre-empt bio-overload, taking out the "bad things" before turning the tank bad killing every tankmate. i suppose it all depends on the entire tank set up, the kind of lr u use, the pr u use, the dsb u have, the kind of fish you have, etcccccccc... wat a depth of knowledge.
