  1. I see Why do you say that the outlet is too small?
  2. Taken into account. Have asked him to incorporate splash covers
  3. Some teaser pics of the setup. The lights are mounted on an acrylic panel that can be removed for maintenance.
  4. I don't want to post the link, but you can google for Santa monica's algae scrubber and the plans are there on the forum as well. I haven't got a confirmed price yet, but one thing's for sure, it'll be less than half of the a/m scrubber after shipping costs. And DE Lightings says if at least 4 units are made, prices will drop even more. Anyway, the scrubber will be rather similar, but based on DE's light fixtures. Will post up when I get the unit sometime this week I think. At present, however, the oxypora in my display tank is acting as the algae scrubber )
  5. I recently started researching algae scrubbers coz I was having trouble with algae bloom despite 0 NO3 ans PO4, and was hoping to find ideas for an outsump, compact and clean algae scrubbers that wouldn't look an eyesore around my room and setup. Came across Santa Monica's scrubber which fit my bill perfectly, except that it cost more than SGD 1k including shipping costs! So I had a little discussion with my favorite DIY man, DE Lightings, and turns out he can fashion something very similar with his own lighting fixtures, for a fraction of the cost... It should be ready soon, and if anyone is interested, I'll post up pictures of the scrubber, and progress of algal growth in the scrubber and in my tank, once I start it going
  6. Still running my ELOS nano. It's never too large, excess nutrient export good the SM100 can be ordered online but it costs USD649! www.santa-monica.cc I believe. I like it coz it's compact and sealed up... Bro skinbone. Can whatsapp me at 91002020
  7. As above, anybody selling or ordering please let me know. Julian 91002020
  8. Thanks. Skimmer presently reserved.
  9. Is it really so difficult to wait half an hour for a reply? Learn some patience young man. Otherwise get out of reefing.
  10. Last 2 days SMS me? That's the first lie. U only sms'd me at 151pm on sat afternoon. I replied at 537pm. Why the delay? I was operating on a patient. Do you think my skimmer and my phone are MH first priority while doing surgery? Subsequently I was looking after 2 kids at home. I don't have my phone with me all the time. U sms'd me at 622pm asking if 8-830pm at bukit timah would be alright. This is despite me already saying my pickup place is Clementi/Pasir Panjang and prearranged 2pm Sunday pm. I'm compromising family plans to meet u on a sat for a $90 skimmer, and yet you sms'd again at 655 saying that the deal is off as we're both too busy. Might I remind you that 1) I don't sell marine equipment for a living. Do I have an obligation to meet u at ur time when selling something? No. I choose to. 2) Today is not our prearranged day. Your request to me is last minute. And I'm trying to accommodate you. You can't even wait for half an hour to have my response? Why not call directly if you're so hard up? 3) I am under no obligation to reserve the skimmer for you. And yet I did despite the numerous enquiries. Because of a half hour wait you decide you want to cancel, when u requested the earlier pickup yourself? What, was that half hour so crucial to your life or someone else'? 4) all I said to you was to SMS me when you were coming to pick it up to see where I was. and we can deal there. Why should I change my plans on a day I didn't prearrange to meet you, just so it would be convenient for you only? You may not have stood anyone else Up before, but you sure are one demanding and unreasonable buyer. And rest assured I have never met anyone like you in 4 years of reeding, and I will never deal with you ever again.
  11. Back up on sale. Kenah aeroplane by tansh , 81989593 who, after changing our original planned meeting date by bringing it forward, decides to forgo because I took half an hour to respond to his text. I wasn't aware that I have to live with my eyes glued to my phone. Bottom line is, if it's urgent, you have the phone number, call.
  12. I had a pellet feeding mandarin pair, but the larger one passed on when I moved from my 4ft to my 17" cube. It's 2" mate is still alive and happy and still pellet feeding, so ya, I'd say they exist. I'm expecting to decom sometime soon so if u might be interested, do drop me a PM. Julian
  13. Recently bought from Bro ATcraz 2 weeks ago, he got it in 2011. Doesn't quite fit my sump, so am selling it off. Only test fitted and fired up once. Asking same price I got it for $90. SMS me at 91002020
  14. I've just started using 1 Maxspect 60w in my 17" cube ELOS tank. Before that was using the ELOS LED light. SPS doing well with both setups.
  15. Another reason could be cyanide used in fish collection at place of origin? I've also lost a flame and rhomboid bought from the same place. Prior to that I didn't have anything die for more than a year. And because of the cost of the flame and rhomboid, I was particularly careful with acclimatization. But the flame didn't last 2 hours, and the rhomboid 3 days. Because of this, I never went to that LFS again. And since then, hardly anything died again...
