  1. Hi Bro Battery operated pump can be purchase in any fish tackle shops. Beach road (arab Street) have plenty. Less then 1 red note for 1.
  2. Big is relative. How "big" you are looking at? I am not an "old bird" in reefing. Just to share my experience. No offence if you have more experience then me. I had my tank built last year. You will need to plan way ahead. DO NOT rush in committing your tank. Here's the few pointers: 1. Determine the size of tank in need in terms of L*B*H. This tie to space, budget and how much time you wish to spend on the tank. For me I have a 36" (3ft) *30 (2.5ft)"*27 (>2ft and < 2.5ft) ". Notice that my tank height is not 2.5ft? There is no cost difference. My arm can only reach 27" if not using a clamping tool. 2. Determine the overflow to be left, middle or right. My tank is place at a left hand corner wall. Lots of advice to me to have the overflow to be place on the left for nice look and it will not block veiwing area from the right if the overflow is place right. However I decided to place it on the right instead. It turn out to be a bleesing in disguise. A couple times during the intial stage my fishes flight and a few fishes went into the overflow. On the right, I manage to see and catch them them. My tank is now 6 months old. 3. Determine the size of the sump and the placement of the return pump. I had 2 Ehiem universal return pumps running external instead in the sump. Running external posing risk of leakage and thus I choose use a more reputable brand. This help to reduce heat load by 2 - 3 degrees. 4. Determine what you wish to keep. Reef or Fish only. This will have direct impact on the power , lights, hood, sump...etc planning. 5. Last but not least, plan for a tank that you want NOT others. It is always good to talk to more experience reefer for advice. However, ultimatelt, it will be your call. You will be the one facing your tank 24*7!!!! Hopes this help. Else ignore me. Cheers
  3. Hi Jonny Notice that your tank is not fully resting on a cabinet. Also there is no foam below the base. This is very dangerous. If the salt water spill on your floor, you will have a hard time cleaning. Just my 2 cents.

The ViaAqua Multi-Skimmer is ozone compatible and has adjustable/variable Venturi with an exclusive air/water mixing chamber and an adjustable cup. The skimmer is designed to work with any of the Via Aqua LV Aquarium, up to 80 gallons, for an instant Nano reef. The Via Aqua Multi Skimmer is a great combination skimmer, HOB Filter, and UV Sterilizer that is ideally suited for beginner saltwater aquariums up to 60 gallons. Excellent when used in conjunction with other filters and live rock! • Simple installation • Adjustable variable venturi with a air/water mixing chamber • Adjustable collection cup • Built in biological chamber or UV sterilizer chamber • Filter cartridge with activated carbon • Injects more air than any other protein skimmer in it class • For aquariums up to 60-80 gallons • Surface skimmer and bottom pick up • Filtration is improved with the addition of a Pre-Filter such as the Filter Max 1 or 2 • Although this filter is not the best SINGLE UV, HOB, or Skimmer; for the price and the fact it combines three types of one unit, the Multi Skimmer is easily one of the best systems you can buy for a marine aquarium under 60 gallons especially when combined with a large amount of live rock inside the aquarium.

  15. The 3 aplha should be "LaE". Its means that the Temp controller is out of calibration. Guess the temp controller is an external controller from LAE. They normally comes with Teco chiller. If you are technical enough, open the temp controller. Note: Make sure you do not plug in the power. There should be 2 adjustable resistor . You can fine tune the resistor to compensate the temp difference. Use another thermometer to counter check the correct temp. If you want to tune with power ON, then you will need to use a non-metal flat screwdriver. Hopes this help.
  16. Hi Bro Have you view the Via Aqua all-in-one skimmer ? Check this link http://www.saltwaterfish.com/site_11_03/Vi...482_6_6_55.html. I have one that comes with UV lights as well. I change the in-take with a surface skim and will need time to config it for smooth in-take. If you config it without surface skim, then it will work perfect with little trouble. Hope this help.
