No worry n no regrets. i run my Schuran 200 externally too. I believe the water was meant for yr Eheim pump...water level should always abv the pump..so 25 is Ok. You can try playing with the control valve (between skimmer n pump) n juz note the fwgs: When u max the valve, the bubble go all the way up n u get watery Teo-O. Slowly..little bit switch it down til u may see finner bubble at the neck of the top container... n u get thick skimmed smelly mate. So far for me, it has been working good for almost a year. I used baby bottle brush to clean it. U need time to understand the equipment better.

For me, to run them externally was to create space in the sump. 3 basic pumps now and eventually more will be added (eg for calcium reactor and whatever purpose where pumps are needed...) BTW, I have successfully run my pumps externally using siphon method (hose n pipe) instead of drilling. Tks guy for feedbacks. Only thing now is I get some Zzzzz (vibration..light one) sound from my pump. Juz a thought ... wonder is there anythings or ways where I can reduce the quantity of pump used...eg One solid pump which can be channel to several outlets eg. chiller, skimmer etc...instead of using so many pumps with so many pwer points needed.

It is abit loud when blowing. but u have to expect this becos it is 1.3Hp.

Now I understand why mine survive so well in my tank with so little fish which also puzzle me at its well-being when others told me it doesnt survive long. mine happens to be a FALSE doctor (no licence one)

Is it true that there r 2 types of doctor fish??? and they look alike. i m asking this becos I hv a doctor fish which attack any new fish ..not nip but "cheong n whack" Now I am told that there are 2 different types..mine eats anything and they survive for 4 mths liao. Guru, pls advise please.

Hi there I have 3 eheim pumps in my sump, 2x1260 n 1x1262, they r mainly used for skimmer, chiller n return. I m thinking of drilling holes in my sump n run them externally. B4 doing it, I wud like to have some advises or considerations to take note Wat I notice is that...currently if I off the switch, my return pump backflow water thru n out of my pump until it reaches the sifon break. Will water be backflow out of my eheim pump when there is a power failure. Yr advise n comments please. Thanks.

Pls adv how do u guys upkeep or maintain your chiller...especially when u hv additives like calcium...etc added to tank everyday. 1. Do u flash it n how frequent shld be done? 2. Are there any yearly servicing or such 3. Wat abt gas top-up. 4. R there any warning b4 breakdown. 5. Normally, what "life-span" does a chiller have. With d abv points,,,does it make any difference if the chiller is copper or titanium? Yr guidance will be appreciated. Tks

For those who are looking for those shells... I found mine from the old Singapore Turf Club (Bukit Timah). There is this store where an old couple selling some shells,,,they are using it to make blinds and decorative items. Ask them for more...n they will show u more, more n more...
