  1. Hi, I selling my 2ft tank set with wrought iron stand for $30. Delivery not included. Items: - 2 tanks (24"x12"x18") - wrought iron stand Location : North PM me if interested. Thnx.
  2. Have not decided whether to go for a 3ft or 4ft tank but likely a 3ft...not really rushing into it at the moment but my next tank or stand should be rust or mite free no lesser than 10mm.. $300 for a wooden stand sounds reasonable...any pic to share.. will keep in mind to get the contact from u when custon built my SS stand..thx...not forgetting also on your leftovers.. Funny though how come no one comes out with an alum alloy stand?? must be ex..just like those bicycle.
  3. Benz..Thnx for offering me the paint. On the SS, not too sure if those SS door that I'm using at home is good enough..impression given to me was pretty good when I spoke to them at their factory..I'll have to dig up their contact again to enquire on the SS grade that they're using. Talking about giving way...wonder if anyone could suggest the minimum thickness of the glass to use for 3ft & 4ft tank. Usually, I was told by LFS that 6mm is good enough..is it true?? If the price of SS & wood is not too far apart..I would prefer wood. reeflobang..I did check-out this product at Home-fix & not too convince when the instruction says..ensure the surface is salt free.. Titanium!! wow..must be ex. Aluminium...why not Aluminium alloy...should be harder & won't rust..
  4. Thought stainless steel would rust too, right??.. wonder if it's graded?? just like some of the pots that we are using in our kitchen..18-8. maybe there're such product with more stainless contents...but would be very..ex I guess.. AT raised an interesting point..wonder if the chennai wood is mite proof??? Those reefers using steel stand, care to share how most of you maintain your stand??
  5. The thought of stripping it all makes me lazy...I would rather built a new one..unless no choice. I think it's easier treating the rust & cheaper than to move it..while planning for the perfect tank and migrate later. Thanks.
  6. Thanks for the advise.. Benz, is there such a thingy as marine paint? could you describe..any specific terms or product name. sps_dude, thanks dude...actually no intention to strip down my recent creation for the moment..after all those hardworks of re-arranging the LR looking for a perfect spots. Thought only those expose spots are affected & hope that there's a solution that will last me a while before setting up another replacement tank mah... ah^siao, try saving for now till I decide on my perfect tank...next stand would definitely be on wood..chengtai or chiangmai or chen_ai as long as it doesn't rot & tahan the weight. better still if there's an easy way to move the tank without disrupting what's inside would be perfect!!
  7. Just move on from fresh water to marine & found that my current wrought iron stand is rusting very fast since I've adopted a marine tank. Need some advise of how best to treat those rust...paint? anti-rust agent before paint?? or simply dump it away..hopefully not cause I already can feel the pain of disrupting my beautiful setup. Thanks for any advise.
  8. I'm using a AC Fan from LFS & managed to bring down 2 deg..the clamp looks pretty secure to me.
