  2. Hi All, I have 1 Golden Milleninium from Chai Discus (with me about 2 years) for adoption. For whatever reason I am decomming the tank and left with this one to offer to any bro/sis here that can offer this discus a better home and better care. I only have 1 condition - the requestor must have experience with discus and has a tank currently. Please message me at 97646668 if you are keen. Thank you. Joe
  3. Hi hi, My tank is low on KH (carbonate hardiness). May I know how to bring it up, please? Also, I've gotten some chaeto which I placed it in the sump with 24/7 12w white light shining at it but over the past 2 weeks the volume of the chaeto is getting smaller and smaller.. I know some bros here their chaeto are growing and they are able to harvest it to be sold or given away free. How did you guys do it? Cheers!
  4. Please PM me your interest:- 1) Tank set bought about 1 year ago. Still in good condition - good for immediate setup. - 2Ft Cube (Haiyang). - Flow pump (3000l/hr). Came with Tank. - FR bought from Ji-reh Marine. - Skimmer bought from Pacific Marine. 2) Aquabee 3000 bought from AquaMarine during Aquarama 09. Used only for 3 months. Cheers!
  5. Hi reefers, I've read some if not most of the threads on cycling and quarantine processes but still got some questions.. appreciate if you could provide guidance: 1) During cycling period (tank with only LR without LS and dosed with addictives), do you run the skimmer and FRs? Any harm if you run it? 2) Quarantine of new fishes is highly recommended. How about for inverts, clams, corals or plants eg. red bamboo (food for tangs), do these need to be quarantined in a separate tank dosed with medication or can straightaway dump into the main tank? Cheers!
  6. Dear gurus, I am keeping a couple of angels, tangs and a small group of anthias with no corals. Do the angels/tangs require the water to be chilled?
  7. Does anyone have experience in this? I had 4 of such shrimps for many months and a couple of anemone as well. Everyday you can see these lil' fellas sitting on it. But after the anemone are gone somehow I never see any of the shrimps again. Does the surivival of these shrimps dependent on availability of anemone?
  8. Do they? Today found 1 of my smaller fish near the mouth of the anemone. The fish was feeding well and no sign of injury (due to fight) etc that could have caused the death. Water para are ok too.
  9. hi gurus, i have 2 clams at the moment which i placed at the sand bed and resting on flat LR and partial seashell. browsing through the Clam Pics thread i saw some fellow reefers here place their claims on LR, between LR or flat on the sand bed. is there an "correct" way to place your clams? or typically anywhere is fine as long the clam is comfortable and does not topple?
  10. Hi guys, Regarding keeping of sea horse, I got a few questions for the gurus here: 1) SH can be kept in a community tank or have to be kept on it's own separate tank? 2) Can SH be kept alone? If it has to be in larger quantities? 3) What if a SH in a community tank doesn't eat the frozen brine scrimps? Any remedies?
  11. Hi all experts, I am setting up a 2'x2'x2' tank. So far, with recommendations from LFS, besides the usual piping and pump I was told to get a protein skimmer and chiller. I intend to keep some fish and LR and corals (no specifics yet). I would like to ask you guys and gals for advise as I have been surfing this forum for past week and also been talking to some LFS:- 1) Do I need to get Calcium enhancer, Nitrate remover? A LFS told me it's necessary as it helps in maintaining the water quality/condition. But another say no need as there are solutions in the market which I can apply into the water. 2) Any other stuff I have missed out besides the above? Thank you thank you.
