  3. eversince kiko started working... his good boy image is shedding already.... :P

How's your tank condition? got it back up?

    lol...

opps... looks like i'm starting to reveal too much about myself :P

tank condition still slowly bringing it back to the desired parameters...

    corals took a bad hit...

SG level too high... almost hitting 1.030.. sigh..

pH went up to about 8.49...

    everyday removing abit of water,

    replacing it with DI water...

now wondering if increasing my dosage of calcium would help me to bring down my pH

i do suspect my PO4 might be on the high side as well,

got to get it checked... sigh..

all the neglect once i start work..

thank god fishes still doing fine...

  4. Yo ben... Since tis is ur first tank n ur new to marine, y not u get a 2nd hand tank from e bros here in p/mlm section. Tis wil save u alot of $$. N i don find e need for u to buy a custom made tank as u jus keepin a small tank. wher r u staying bro. If in e east, u can always dropby my house n i be more then hapi to help u wit tis hobby. There are alot of other thing tat u need to take note in e long run. Don waste too much $$ on ur first tank. Not worth it. Once u get use to tis line, then maybe u can make ur own custom make tank. Tis is jus my opinion. Don mean e bad way bro. Cheers... 

agree totally with what cool guy said...

when i started off, almost 90% of my setup was 2nd hand...

partly due to the fact that i was still a student then, limited budget...

2nd hand items might not last you that long (some do...),

but at least they would give you a "feel" of this hobby,

how is it like, the commitment in your time and $$ that you have to fork out for...

once you get "hooked" on to this hobby,

i believe eventualy, you'll start getting new stuff,

and you'll know which are the equipments best suited for your tank..

what I dread most is to see new reefers spending a bomb on new big tanks,

    buying the top end equipments,

not realising what are they seeking for.

eventually, they find that this hobby is not for them,

    decom after a few months...

    and just my 2cents,

do away with external canister filter...

    eventually you'll know why...

i started off with using canister filter as well :)

    all the best!

  5. Iggy... here's what it is...

    1b688aa6-826f-6e80.jpg

Black colour cable trunking.. meant to keep wires neat and tidy.. just like what comycus has.. just that most shops don't have black, thus I bought them online.

    ;)

    cool!

one of the things reefers tend to overlook,

    keeping wirings neat and tidy...

    where is it gonna be?

    in your cabinet?

  6. As long as they are not gay like ray....

    :poster_oops:

Usually they copy their owner .....

No wonder kiko looks like Panda .....

no wonder he's so quiet lately...must be from the exhaustion...even sea cucumber need to rest from cleaning the sand bed...poor thing...

lol... does kiko future in laws visit SRC???

    They must be sweating liao......

    preparing wedding dinner liao.. LOL

    LOL! think too much lah!

    cannot copy owner,

all their babies never survive!

    "future-in-laws" follow me to LFS,

    but not visit SRC.. haha..

still waiting for the day that they'll stop me at the counter and say,

"let me pay this time round"

congrats, my male clean the same area for months, but still no sign of eggs haha

i had false alarm as well few months back...

    they chose a nice spot...

then i added RBTA to my tank,

they settled in and made out there...

never use protection at all :eyebrow:

  7. Congratulation to your promoting to a father. :P I think the only way for the egg to survive is to remove it for it to hatch, maybe you can check with some of our breeder over here as well for their advice,

yea the only way for me to even have a chance of trying to raise them is to remove the eggs out from the tank...

i've placed some "loose" rocks around the area that they tend to lay their eggs,

hopefully one day they'll choose to lay on those "loose" rocks...

well done Kiko.... sushi time..... :groupwavereversed:

    yum yum..

    Ebikko Sushi!!!

i hope my coming pair of clowns can be as productive as yours!! ^_^

i believe they will be productive,

under the TLC from both you and your bf... :yeah:

best place to get healthy clownfishes..... coralfarm......

  8. Some pictures of my clownfishes and their eggs...

Is there no way I could ever raise them up in a reef tank?

i would really love to try my hands at breeding some day,

but space at my place is limited...

cant have too many tanks lying around the house....

pardon the blur photos taken with my iPhone...
