  1. The golden is doing very well until now, he is eating well. Your weird experience in red sea regal is happen to me also, he refuses to eat any kind of meaty food except open mussel/clam and crush crab, he also eat greedily on any kind of pellets, so i also do like you do before, i have many kind of pellet even pellet for Lo Han fish. The regal is almost 1/2 years right know, and he is very though and bold, and never strike with any diseases. Actually my regal is show in my avatar.
  2. Oh, i feel sorry about your tragedy, and thanks a lot for your information for this lovely butterfly. However, i already buy that fish last evening, and put it to my main tank, i do not quarantine tha fish, since i don't have any spare tank. In my sump live the adult red sea regal angel. But amazingly, he is eating any kind of frozen shrimp and frozen blood worm right in this morning, he competing and not affraid to take a food from my hand along with my majestic angel, saddleback butterfly, falcula butterfly and copperband butterfly. Actually this fish is a new arrival in my LFS, but lucky me he doesn't show any sign of stress during transportation.
  3. Hai, does anyone in of you have an experience in keeping this beautifull butterflyfishes? Please share with me like the way to seduce to eat, longevity in the tank, etc!!!! Thanks a lot for your help.

  5. Hello folks, i live in indonesia. There is some LFS that sell Red Sea and Caribbean Species but in very high prize, so i decide to go to singapore to buy fish at your LFS. The question is, can i pass the airport guard? Can the fish survive the x-ray? Some rumours occur in my LFS that there is few people (some are their customer) are bringing fish from your country without any problem, so do you guys have any idea or any experience? Please share. Thanks.
  6. Hello guys, does anybody in this forum use Macro Denitrator or Coralife Denitrator? Please share your experience with that gadget? Any kind of comment will be appreciate. Thank you very much.
  7. My model is ASF 200, is it neddlewheel type or ventury type? I ever see the ventury type, but i don't have any idea what kind of needlewheel skimmer, can you tell me or describe the macro neddlewheel model?
  8. My skimmer is needle wheel type, but i don't know why the water comes out from 1 of the needle hole. Actually there is 4 hole, 1 is for the airline tubing, and the other 3 i suppose is already sealed by the manufacturer, but why the water are still comes out. What is the toppest part of the water level inside the skimmer that i can adjust? Are you sure needle wheel is better than ventury type, i suppose ventury is still the best and the most expensive skimmer in the market. IS MACRO PRODUCT GOOD? WHICH ONE IS BETTER COMPARING TO JEBO SKIMMER?
  9. they are considered entry-level skimmers here What do you mean by that statement? Which one is the best between Jebo and Macro? I will try to use Kent Marine, as there is the only product that available in my country. Okay, then it will be mean that even though the tank substrate are very clean, and the pylofilter are clean regularly every 2-3 days, but if i do not changes/export in what ever ways, then the nitrate and phospate will still increasing (eventhough no debris and dirt) ? Oh yes, i'm from indo, what's the problem, is there any member in this website that live in indo too, and may be can help me?
  10. That phospate remover are not avaiable in my country, i already check to my LFS, there is Kent Marine Phospate Remover, can it work properly to remove phospate? So, even if i can keep my gravel quite clean, the phospate and nitrate will always increasing? Do you know Macro skimmer?
  11. I use nothing, as i don't know the product that can remove or eliminate phospate. All i do is just water changes to reduce nitrate and phospate. So according to your analyze, what is the cause of uncontroll blue green algae/mat algae? Will you give me a way out how to keep nitrate and phospate at desire level, at least not exceed 20 ppm. And as a description : i can't do a water changes every week (it is very exhaust my energy), i don't want to implement DSB/Plenum. So, please recommend me a gadget to counter measure my problem. I want to buy a macro denitrator, is this product easy to operate and give a best result to control nitrate? And what other gadget that i can buy in order to reduce phospate?
  12. Okay, then why in my past setup, when i use CC as my gravel and it is about 3-4 cm thick, the nitrate is about 70-80 ppm and can reach more than 100 ppm is i'm not changes the water for more than 1 month, i don't know the phospate as i never measure it. When i do a water changes it will going down to 20-30 ppm, but back to the level of 70-80 ppm in short time. And there is blue green algae covering all of my decoration, eventhough in every water changes i vacuum the grvel and siphon the all the algae (even sometimes i take all the rock and srcub it), i can't eliminate the blue green algae, i am very desperate with this condition, so i think may be with BB i can handle this situation. Please explanation.
  13. Thank you very much boss. I want to inform you that my tank is F/O setup and no invert at all except the shrimp and small crab. So the problem why i move from CC gravel to BB, is because CC gravel will be a debris and mulk accumulate in few years, so it will make my nitrate become much higher. I am quite happy if i can maintain a nitrate at 10-20 ppm level, cos' i want to growth a lush green hairy algae. Can i achieve that? Oh ya, is that correct that with high nitrate and phospate i will never growth hairy algae but the result is blue green algae/mat algae. Please explaination. Thanksd again to all of you.
  14. Hello everybody, i just want to re-setup my tank. Before that i use crush coral as my gravel (without UGF) about 3 cm thick, and after few years the gravel a full of tons debris and muck, so as a result i can't control the cyanobacteria/blue green algae/mat algae. Actually i want to growth green hairy algae in my F/O tank, but i ever read that with high nitrate and phospate i will not ever growth hairy algae and as the result the bad algae like blue green algae will be flourish unless i can keep the nitrate and phospate low. Is this correct? Right now i want to change to Bare Bottom, many says that BB is much more easier to maintain in quite clean condition, as the debris will ussually accumulate in one/several spot and easily vacuum. Can the BB keep the nitrate and phospste in low level? The filtration is using DIY wet/dry, the skimmer using Macro needlewheel type, and to reduce nitrate, i want to buy Macro denitrator. So with this kind of filtration and BB setup, can i control my nitrate and phospate? Please help. Thank you very much for all of you.
  15. Hello guys, i live in Indonesia, and i just bought a macro skimmer asf 200 for up to 1.000 lt tank. the seller told that the representative office in Singapore, and i already email to them but few days ago, but they don't reply me, so i really need your help, the problem is when i adjust the water in the skimmer to slightly beyond the needlewheel hole, the water will force through one of the very tiny hole. Is that normal, or is it the sign that my adjustment are too high? PLEASE HELP. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
  16. So many opinion around DSBs, i want to experience in DSBs system, but still confuse because there is no conclusion. AT's, sorry not mean to against you, but i ever read that denitrification will give good effect if do in the right way, but it will har the system if the flow is too slow because it will produce hydrogen sulfide and will harm the system. Any comment?
  17. Frankly speaking, yes the sump is the best way although it will act as a nitrate factory, or else you can combine the sump with refugium or DSBs. But if you still insist to use the canister filter, i strongly suggest you to use oly eheim product (don't mean to promote that product, but this product will last so many years comparing with any competitor brand especially new comers), i still have eheim canister that i bought about 8 years ago for my marine tanks, and it work well. But offcourse you must regularly do a water changes 25-50 % every months.
  18. Hello harmony, orca is very similar to sander skimmer. So what blueheaven said is true, the vents must be place below water surface, just about 1-2 cm approx below water surface. Also pay attention to your air pump, if it is too strong then it will pump water to your chamber, if it is to slow then the waste will not produce, so i suggest choose an air pump that can be set, and set both the wooden stone and the return pipe part, usually between 1-2 days the foan will produce, but if you have only small fish then the process may take several days
  19. Yap, i usually sharing at wetwebmedia. I guess that your skimmer is internal skimmer, is it correct? As far as i know, there are 2 kind of jebo skimmer, first is the internal and second is external type, the external type is sold complete with the power head. I ever see the internal type is working well in my local LFS, he put the skimmer upper the water surface and pump the water by big power head i think at least 3000 l/h, set the valve so the water in the skimmer is only even in the cone chamber (about 1/4 part of the cone part). That' s what i saw. Mine is external type, but setting for the water level in the cone is the same as above, and it work well. junyong84, both type can be hang in the main tank, but i do not have experience with outside pump.
  20. Hei sorry a little bit late to join, i'm indonesian. Hei friend, may be i can help you. I use jebo skimmer too, and at first i'm also have a little bit problem with this skimmer because do not perform foam and brownish color waste water, i found this problem because this skimmer will not work properly if you can't mantain a stable water level in your aquarium, that happen to me when at least i found that water level are play a big deal with this skimmer. I think it will be a little bit difficult to make it work properly in the main tank especially if you don't implement a sump filtration, because the water level will decrease and your skimmer will not work, the best place is to put the skimmer at the sump which have the stable water level, if you can put it at that place and set the regulator of that pump, i can guarantee it will work.
