i have a diy t5 light set. details are as below a. 2 x39W aquaz 20k tubes > i paid $22 each b. tridonic eballast > i paid a diy guru here $42 for it c. aquaz 3 feet reflector > i paid $18.50 for this d. light casing using dymax look alike the tubes are mounted on a single reflector in the casing. due to space constraint, the eballast is remote, connected to the light set by 3 feet (or thereabouts) wire. light set is silver/aluminium and brand is magnum, looks like dymax. arcylic cover is blackened as the heat from the tubes is too much for it. this is not the original cover but one that i bought from shop. maybe due to inferior quality. ok, the above is for sale at $40. im not counting the cost of light set as the arcylic is blackened and eballast is remote, which is cumbersome. $40 is for the used parts and you get the light set foc. pm or sms me at 96811038. self collect from choa chu kang crescent. thanks!

the disadvantage of this design is: a. cannot add too many t5 due to space wasted on the beam/holder b. no protection against salt spray. with t5, u need to place very low and will end up lots of salt spray. quite tedious to wipe. ur reflector will be the first to complain. apart from that, nice design. looks like pro built, not diy. cheers!
