  1. Hello @equinox. The tank is $280. Kinda pricey but it’s not easy to find a tank of this size and thickness. If u can live with 6mm, u save about $100. The eshopps overflow box comes with an air tubing to manually suck out the air. Yes it is possible to suck out all the air. After that jus make sure u don’t remove the U tube else u will need to prime again.
  2. Hahaha indeed. Some zoas are named after the avengers.
  3. hi bro. U may order from Lazada. It’s local so it takes about 3 days to arrive. Three sizes to choose from. I bought the M size.
  4. Have transferred the corals from my existing tank over. All looking healthy. As these are mostly frags, not so worried about bio overload.
  5. Realised it is quite hard to find square top filter sock. Pls shout out if you know where to buy them locally. Thanks!
  6. Thanks @Roychan This is a straightforward open loop sump system. There is no failover for this system. If the return pump should fail, a HOB filter will be used as failover until the pump is replaced, which should suffice for a tank of this size. I came across a few posts of impressive tank setups, involving home renovations (e.g. drilling’s, hacking walls etc.), myriad of equipment and accessories. Very daunting but great learning experience if you are committing yourself to this hobby for life. Yes it has to be for as long as you live if you wanna put that much effort and resources into it. Otherwise don’t bother. On the other hand, my setup is great for one who wishes to have a proper reef tank, understand and experience the basics of a open loop sump system, yet do not wish to over commit in this hobby.
  7. The cycling starts. 2 weeks from now. Stay tuned.
  8. Finally the installation is completed, after several hiccups. Now is to run the setup with tap water for 3 days, before pouring in the salt water. Video and photos as attached. IMG_2223.MOV
  9. Since I’m using one 64HD hydra, I’ll have to adjust it such that sufficient light can reach both corners of the tank. But at the same time don’t wanna have too much light spillage. Will only know once my setup is complete.
  10. It is well stocked! So many fishes... looks impressive.
  11. Any pix of your tank? Heavy flow can be a problem so hopefully the Gyre at 20% operation wouldnt create too much impact.
  12. I have measure the thickness and to my horror it is indeed 5mm, although marketed as 8mm crystal glass. Have returned to the shop already, and managed to source for another 8mm. Thanks for the heads up!
  13. Wow that’s a lot of space taken up. So the display volume is only 20G. The remaining 10G goes to the IOS hehe
  14. Icic! What’s the dimension without the IOS? Quite hard to find this brand in Singapore.
  15. The tank I bought is ANS 8mm crystal glass. Got it for only $130. 2 Hydras 64HD may be an overkill. Will see if it’s necessary before upgrading. Cos it may cause too much lights spillage.
  16. Oh this is a nice dimension. U custom make your tank?
  17. Thanks Admiraltian. 90x30x30 setups are so rare, compared to the 90x45x45 alternative. But the former dimensions gives a better aesthetic feel.
  18. Wow. Looks like tremendous amount of work. I’m also setting up a 3 feet 30cm tank. But I’m using ready made overflow box and sump. Saves me all the headache.
  19. Managed to find some nice pieces of rocks to scape the tank. Thinking if I should do a bare bottom tank for easier maintenance.
  20. I’m starting a new 3 feet shallow reef tank from scratch. Will customise the entire setup, down to the sump. The accessories I’m using are 1. Crystal glass tank 90x30x30cm 2. Eshopps PF Nano Overflow box 3. Eshopps ADV-100 Sump tank 4. Eshopps S-120 Skimmer 5. Maxspect Jump MJ-GF2K Gyre Flow Pump 6. AI Hydra 64HD 7. Jebao MDC-3500 return pump 8. Custom designed cabinet
  21. Thank you. It has been quite some time. Freshwater simply didn’t provide the same level of satisfaction.
  22. bought some golden cloves over the weekend. All are opening well.
