1. Thanks, Ranz. I have watched that video too, the Kessil there is quite out of budget for a fuge light. In their next video, the H80 does not seem to perform noticeably better than the 6500k bulb. I went for a very big refugium, at about 40% of my tank volume. I will check out the Triton method and iron supplements, that is new to me. Thanks again!
2. Thank you! That answers my question perfectly. I have settled for the PAR38 lamp (before reading your post) and agree that the beam is very narrow.
3. Good idea. Do you have a recommendation for one that works with chaeto?
4. Hi guys, I am having a hard time choosing between the Maxspect Celestial 35a or Kessil H80 for my refugium. Please share your experiences with either (or ideally, both) of the lights! Please feel free to suggest alternatives as well. Many thanks in advance. Cheers, Ingwe
5. Dear all, I am returning to the hobby and have a few PAR38 bulbs that I can reuse. However, I cannot find any clamps / goosenecks for them. Can you please let me know if you have any idea where can I buy them? Thank you! Cheers, Ingwe
6. oh yeah, if it is by the side the display tank will be 24" x 18". As regards the diatom outbreak, consider chaeto! I had a heavily loaded tank with only a skimmer and chaeto for nutrient export. Diatoms were not a problem.
7. hahaha. enjoying diatom outbreak indeed. pictures! The space I have is exactly 36" x 18" too. But i am considering having the IOS at the side instead of at the back. Did you consider that when you built your tank? Lastly, pictures please!
8. Hi any updates? I am thinking of setting up a similar tank and updates on your tank will really help. Thanks!

Aquastyle LED

heyy sorry for the late reply, just saw it. One of the drivers broke down, if you're getting it I'll suggest you go with the meanwell drivers (that cost slightly more). From what I've read they seem to be more reliable

12. chaeto might suddenly die off, break up and make a big mess, like mine did after 1.5 years. Not sure about algae scrubbers.

Aquastyle LED

You'll need two drivers. I have 12 of each color so this isn't a problem since each driver can run 7-12 3W LEDS.
14. hey, Tunze 6015 should not be used with wavemakers according manufacturer's recommendations. But from what I have read at reefcentral people do use them with wavemakers. They might make a rattling sound upon start up. Not sure if it affects the warranty or the lifespan of the pump. If you're trying tell us how it goes!
15. 1. One of the ballasts on my 4x t5ho stopped working, there are just 2 working tubes now. where can I get it fixed? 2. The screws fastening the side covers have also rusted, would this be a problem? 3. How much would it cost? (most importantly is it above or below 45.. can just get a hopar to stand in if that is the case )
16. hahaha I see. Would ordering together save money? the shipping costs almost as much as the device, it's annoying lol
17. yeah i checked with them, it is compatible with 220 volts and needs no custom clearance because it is CE approved. but I was hope they would ship it to my friend in HK who would bring it back.. but apparently they don't ship to HK..
18. Has anyone used this before? It looks promising. Do I need a voltage changer if I get this since it is from HK? http://www.fish-street.com/electricity_auto_rotation_system?category_id=97
19. Update: I got impatient and cut the shroud Yes it works.
20. Can a tunze 6015 be modded along the lines of 6025? I found many forums describing how they modded 6025 to increase its flow but none on 6015.. although 6015 and 6025 are structurally similar. http://www.sandiegoreefs.com/forums/showthread.php?57778-Tunze-nano-6025-mods

Aquastyle LED

So far no, this is because the heatsink is not hot, so if anything heat transfer would be to the heatsink.

Aquastyle LED

hi bros, An update after around 4 months. Everything is working fine, and the corals seems to be ok with LED. No heat problems, slightly warm to touch. The only 2 complaints I have with the current arrangements are: 1. When I point the wavemaker to create ripples on the surface, there is some slight spotlighting, i.e. blue is separated from white. This is especially obvious when I'm taking pictures (note: its hung about 2 feet from the bottom of the tank) 2. The centre of the tank seems to be too bright, I suspect this might be because there are too many overlapping beams. therefore I might try to put the dies in 2 clusters, radion-style The only problem is with separating the dies from the heatsink..
