Hi,
Thanks for the advice. Mine is 12 mm with bracing around the top and bottom of the tank. It has an overflow that connect down to the sump below. I guess it should be ok. Hopefully someone has already converted similar tank before.
-
Understand from others that the glass of the tank must be thick but how thick should it be? Also, any other thing that I should watch out for apart from the requirements for additional hardware like skimmer, brighter lights, wave makers. Mine has a 4 ft sump already.
Any advice please before I take the plunge and break the tank :-)

Hello bros/sis
I am planning to convert my 5ft freshwater tank to a saltwater tank but the problem is mine is actually an IOUS tank and I can't place substrate that are too fine otherwise they will be sucked into the overflow compartment and my sump will be full of these substrate in no time.
Anyone here currently having such a setup and how do you guys overcome this problem? Place something to block the underflow compartment or use substrate of bigger sizes?
I am actually planning to use coral chips to block off the underflow but not too sure this method works or not. Anyone can share with me your experience?
Thank you!!!!!!
Hi,
Did you manange to convert your 5 ft? I have a 6 ft and thinking of doing the same too.

U can try aqua empire. Iq3 or iq5 dymax. It's really nano. Has skimmer. Led and etc.
Yes, I am considering getting 2 x IQ5. Will search for it this weekend. I would like to get used IQ5 too but I can't post in sales site yet. May I know what's the price for 1 brand new IQ5?
Tks!

Echoing the message from SPCA - Pets are for life.
Please consider the after purchase husbandry work before taking the plunge. Fresh water fish-only tanks are less demanding than marine ones.
For more information on marine tank husbandry, read up on our forum's sections on setting up of marine tanks.
After careful considerations if you still want to proceed, please do feel free to ask questions in this forum. But please do a search first as your question might have already been asnwered previously. Thanks and Happy New Year.
Hi,
Thanks for the reminder. I am aware. I have been keeping fresh water fishes for more than 30 years already. My only wish is that my fishes are healthy and alive. Every time when there is any fish dead, my face will turn black. My kids know that. Even though I am buying for my daughter, I am the one actually maintaining the tank and live stocks.

got my container already. Thanks!

Hi,
My daughter wanted a Nano tank. Any recommendations? Do I need skimmer? Where to buy? How much? etc.
Tks in advance!

Hi,
Does anyone know where to buy such a container? Maybe a volume of 10 litres will be good enough. Thinking of buying sea water but was worried that it will damage my car :-( Anyone know where to buy such a container for seawater transportation?
Also, any lobang where to buy good hand-on protein skimmer for 2 ft tank. Need reasonably good one that is effective. Any brand and model to recommend?
Tks!

''201 neo tiew crescent at LCK'' is the address. I checked the address on google..I found an arowana farm at the address..
Is it true that the arowana farm can supply snowflake clown ?
I went there few days ago and if I remembered correctly, this marine fish shop is just next to the arowana farm, just side by side.
Carol farm might have what you want too. It's also around that area if you drive.

I think I saw a few at Coral Farm at LCK.

Thanks to all advices here.
I am ready but first of all, I need to clear my current fishes. I believe this will take a while as selling is always not an easy task. Once I have started on the marine set-up, I will keep you all posted.
I love that rock and water information from dmck. I believe that's the way to go to prevent breaking the tank.
Tks!
