If not for the fact I'm still skimmerless right now, I would have gotten some more. oh, the white box is really just a ceap plastic holder. I stuck it where my skimmer shd have been and chucked in some Cheato. Just a temp masure b4 the skimmer comes in. I'm also toying with the idea of diying a small mini refugium that would be nice to look at a well so I can display it behind my main tank. Refugiums can look pretty too and if I could cultivate zooplankton in there, it would be perfect.

Just 2 weeks about, I saw an isopod scouting around my sand. Fearing for the safety of the FA, I had wanted to get a cleaner wrasse. However, Ah Beng advised me to get Chromis instead. I have a crab in there too. Lowered my DIY crab trap in already but still no success. Haiz.

Hi Jacky, yes, I intend to continue using the canister even after the reefpack comes in. I gathered that since I needed a pump for the chiller and it doesn't hurt having the extra filteration, the canister just made sense.

Brief specs : Tank: - 1.5 ft cube, 10mm braceless with black silicone Lighting: - Dymax Octo 150 watt MH clip on with 20K BLV bulb - 2 x Hydor Moonlight Filteration: - Tunze Nano Reefpack 200 (still waiting) - Ehiem Pro II 2026 canister with surface skimmer Chiller: - Hailea HC100

Yup, still not here yet leh. Shipment keep delaying. haiz FYI, the 2026 measures 210mm x 210mm x 375mm (height). Flowrate is 950l/hr. It's rated for up to 300L aquariums but I think if you drive it through the chiller, it's really just nice for our tank size. I am too lazy to start a tank thread as yet but will do so in a while.

Hi Jacky, I'm running a setup very similar to yours. 1.5ft cube but in addition to the nano reefpack 200, I'm running an ehiem pro II 2026 canister which also doubles up as my chiller pump. I would definately recommend this as even though my reefpack is not in yet ( waiting since 26 oct till my neck long liao), the canister keeps my water crystal clear. Maintenance is also rather simple as the pro II has a quick release intake/output port which is watertight. You just have to yank the lever and the canister base comes off. After you wash the canister and removed the gunk, you can also easily top it up with new saltmix, time this with your regular water changes and you save some effort. The Pro II comes with a self priming mechanism so it is a breeze to get the system running again. Another thing is if you connect the intake to a surface skimmer, it gives you additional filtration at the surface where ammonia builds up.

I have already released it into the tank since last thurs b4 I went for my reservist. Still have not seen it eat but it seems to be more active swimming around the tank. Was hopong it would find something to eat among the LR. My blueface went through the same process. It refused any food initially but went on pecking ard the LR. Now, 3 weeks later, it openly takes in the pellets i drop in. Keeping my fingers crossed for the regal. One good thing is that at least, there's no bullying among the 3 residents.

bro, sorry to hear abt your blueface. I just got a blueface from ah beng as well. shd be frm the same shipment. Just now at henry's, i saw a similar sized, ard 4inches blueface. According to henry, just arrive 1-2 days ago but already feeding. You may want to take a look if you are looking for a confirmed feeding specimen. the fish looks very active also, fins "kambong" all the time. look v fierce. confirm can stand up for itself

unfortunately i dun have the space to put the mesh thingy in. I already got the largest plastic cage ah beng has to house/isolate the regal. hope to be able to get it to feed and release it in a couple of days. v poorthing leh, stuck in that confined space

thanks! i drove all the way to henry just now to get henry's gourmet. according to henry, most will not resist this and will feed. however, learnt something new frm him, large specimens may sometimes be stubborn and refuse to feed, so best according to him is buy smaller specimens. will try out the food first thing at office tom.
