  1. I don't recall C328 having them, maybe Polyart. Didn't see any over at Ah Beng also. It's ok, I've give the rest a go! Thanks guys!
  2. Wahhh ... you went to get the B/W babies! New batch of em'? *Envy* I damn scared liao don't dare to keep them after the last pair.
  3. Hey guys and gals, just wondering where would one be able to buy proper Betta Boxes sized like the ones we see in the back rows of CF? Some of the senior reefers have advised that most LFSes should stock these but my check with a few of them turned out negative thus far. I was told that Iwarna sells them, but apparently they are at least 2x the size of the ones we see in CF. Anyone can help? Thanks in advance!
  4. Don't mind me asking - how did you manage to pass through customs with your frags?
  5. I spotted quite a few B/W Ocellaris babies left at Iwarna couple of days back. You can check it out there. Mine both up the lorry liao Donno why but they suddenly had torn fins after a week. Upped the lorry shortly. Not Brook so might be some bully nipping them at night? Sigh. That's the problem with keeping small babies in a tank with other fishes.
  6. Noo ... didn't manage to spot them. I was trying to find that Orange-Shoulder Tang hiding between the rocks in that huge pond heheheh.
  7. East LFS Group Outing Date: 30 January 2010 Time: 11am Meeting place : TBD LFS - Iwarna, Ah Beng, etc etc. 1. Jacky - confirmed. 2. Qiang - Tentative 3. peacemaker - TBC 4. samsies - Tentatively ok Can I suggest that we fix the date preferably near to a particular shipment date? That's coz we'd have more LS to check out when we pick the right time to go down.
  8. How about some nice L sized Square Anthias over at Iwarna? Very unique! Spotted lots of Kole Yellow Eyes, PBTs and some Clown Tangs. According to Auntie, there is a L sized Orange-Shoulder Tang in the big pond somewhere. Tankful of Green Wrasses, another tankful of Yellow Spotted Watchman Gobys. Mixed tank of Fire Fishes, One-Spot Foxfaces, Coral Beauties, Yellow Angels, Regal Angels. Tankful of Multi-Colored Yumas in the middle. And I haven't checked out the Hawaii shipment today yet!
  9. Once again, no offence dude. I wasn't looking for YTs. I posted my observations since I was around the area - just didn't want people looking for YTs to have a realistic expectation of this batch of YTs, that's all. My apologies if anybody took offence. Just calling a spade, a spade. Stating what I saw.
  10. Don't mind me saying this guys, I was over at CF this afternoon so decided to drop by LCK since I was around the area. Yup, there may be plenty of YTs in various sizes, but they don't look to be in good shape. Most of them were scraggly with torn fins ... I wonder why. Not a good batch.
  11. Best to take it out. Once it is allowed to hide in the nooks and crannies of your LR and starts to grow, it'll start shifting / pushing your rocks and corals etc. And start 'ambushing' the smaller fishes / shrimps in your tank.
  12. How are they doing today Jacky? Better? My babies are a little slow during feeding, even though they try their best. Ah Lian Clownfish and Ah Beng Chromis are damn bloody fast lor, but the babies still got some so they should be ok. Often hanging out together with Ah Lian Clownfish. Oh btw, the black babies are gone from CF already. For export. I thought I told you when we were there that day? Maybe can try Iwarna when your tank completes cycling. On a separate note, my RG has decided to come out of hiding to explore the tank a bit. And he's pretty fast during feeding too - darting out from under the cave to snatch at the feed before darting back in. Lovely to watch
  13. Hmmm ... and they say that Clowns are easy to keep coz they're hardy. Not so eh?
  14. Huh? Really ah? So soon? Brook? You're not alone bro, I had 5 clowns die of Brook! Even after I tried the various methods - freshwater dip, methylene blue dip etc. Radioactive Lian is the last woman standing. And still going strong! Try to get the little one to feed. Once she starts feeding, all will be well coz the immunity will start building itself up.
  15. Dowan lah I a bit lazy ... and besides, I kinda gave up my photography equipment quite a while back coz I had no time for it. Once in a while post pics still ok lah, but own reef tank thread? No lah not nice enough paisay to show hahahaha. Nevertheless, it is time to update YOURS with your new inhabitants! How are they doing so far? Yeah, it's a challenge for me to raise those babies up to become as 'kilat' as the pair we saw at CF going for 8 orange notes! Hahahah
  16. No problem - the next time we head West, I can come pick you up! PM me your number, forgot to ask you for it. Heheheh so you took my advice to look through liveaquaria.com eh heheheheheh. It's damn poisonous one lor, you sure regret coz you want ALL the fishes in there hahahah. Use it carefully, my friend. I thought you were with us when we saw the pair of them Yellowhead Jawfish (we thought they were Gobises heheheh) at the back when we were at SL? Wait, I think it was just Cedric and I at that moment. Hmmm ... yeah cute with big eyes. Can consider! Looking foward to the next meetup!
  17. How about some shots of the newcomers into your respective reef communities guys? #1 My 'radioactive' false clown aka 'Ah Lian' getting acquainted with the new babies moments after they were introduced ... #2 Soon, the rest of them also came to kaypoh ... #3 The novelty wore off after a while, as usual. I think you can sort of see the misbars from this picture? #4 They were soon left alone ... hanging above the star polyps I took over from Bruce ... Unfortunately, the other newcomer to the tank, the RG, went straight into hiding between my LRs the moment it was introduced, popping out only for a short while. Not enough for me to snap some shots of it. Humji fella - easily the biggest chap in the tank but choose to go into hiding instead heheheh. Will post shots of it as it gets adjusted to life in its new home! You guys' turn to show your Mandarins, Percs and clams!
  18. Wah you fast hand fast leg leh! From your iPhone I suppose? Yes fruitful outing - gotta check out P in the east soon!
  19. Mai diam diam suan me ... jio you don't wanna go. Come along lah! OT a bit - Stopped over at AM on the way home from getting our seasalt mix. AM has a YT from its latest Hawaiian shipment that is a nice size I'm looking at. And a RG from the Caribbean as well. Ah Heng said to let them acclimatize for a few days first since they just arrived yesterday. I'll definitely be back next week to check them out! Can consider ... Ok end of OT. Buzz me if you change your mind trw.
  20. Qiang -> I can pick you up along the way if you're over at Thomson. Text me 97606445. Kimkim -> The same goes for you if you're on my route to Lot 1. I'll be coming from the East. The rest -> See you guys trw morning! I'll probably scoot off after lunch for another appointment! But what if I end up with inflated packets? Heheheh
  21. Whoa ho, that sounds worse than Harakiri heheheh ... well that was based on my friend's experience with the 6-line so ... What about Flasher Wrasses? I saw the ones over at Henry's and they look beautiful! A little aggressive though, I think. 2 of em I saw were squaring off, flaring their fins and staring down at each other everytime one circled the other.
  22. Yup, I think most of the LS from Iwarna's last shipment are more or less gone. Mostly corals left. There're about 4 pieces of rocks with multi-colored Zoas left from the Fiji Shipment going for 4 red notes + each. About 2 pieces of Eagle Eyes from Indon shipment still around. Some brains (I think) and candy spotted as well. Over at Ah Beng's the nice fishies I spotted included a few Six-line Wrasses, Emperors, Yellow Angels, Bicolor Blennys and Copperbands and Moorish Idols. Almost walked away with a Six-Line Wrasse quoted at one green note (tempting!), but with their record of committing Harakiri by jumping out of the tank, I demurred. RB left with a number of multi-colored pratas, acans and brains. Very nice! But the price also very nice - 6 blue notes upwards. Virtually not many fishies left ... 1 Royal Gramma left hanging on a packet heheh
  23. I saw a number of sexy shrimps at AM from their latest shipment on Tues as well.
  24. Yes that was taken with my office DSLR - not the best, but it'll have to do coz I'm 'cameral-ess' at the moment. Nikon D80 with kit lens, shutter speed 1/160s, aperture f5.6, ISO1250 for those who're interested in what settings the picture was shot in. Lens is pretty mediocre so I had to compensate by setting the variables manually (bump up the ISO and shutter speed) in order to catch her and her radioactive tummy hahahah. OT liao. I think LaW is probably right - she might be eating a little too much ... gotta think of a way to feed my gangster Chromises and the rest of my fishies separately so that they start feeding in a more civilized manner! And also in order for the less aggressive inhabitants to get their share as well.
