At times, if not most of the time, the pics we took of our tank takes on a color hue.
There are a few methods to set the white balance right before we snap the pic.
But what I'm trying to share here is the method of adjusting the WB after the pics are taken.
The answer is to shoot the pics in raw format .
Common format available in digi cam is jpeg, tiff and raw.
So if your camera supports raw, maybe you like to give it a try.
After transferring the raw file to the pc, you will need a "raw viewer" software (which normally comes with the camera) to open it, adjust the WB, and then save it as .tiff or .jpg
Below are a few screenshot of my minolta raw viewer.
Under the whitebalance dropdown list, u can c that there are a few preset WB i can choose from eg daylight, cloudy etc...
The colour temp is also displayed on the top right corner.
For the above, its 7539K
This one has a colour cast towards red/magenta.
Lets pick daylight and see the difference ...
Already much better. Note the colour temp now reflect 5500k
How about cloudy ...
Not bad also. Colour temp is now 6027K
But if u prefer something in between daylight and cloudy, u could even manually input the colour temp.
Lets pick something in between, 5800K
Get the drift ?
Hope u find this useful.
