  1. this one a bit soft, but i like the pose
  2. thanks ivcap. I loved those zoos too. Unfortunately, it came with a tiny bunch of waving-hands hitchhkers and now the tiny bunch has taken over the entire rock. Dunno whether should i do a fresh water dip or keep it in darkness to murder the waving hands and get back my zoos
  3. thanks dravan. I got it at $1200 a while back. Probably its obselete now, its taken over by 7hi, then A1 and currently A2. For quality of sharpness, you should check out those digi SLR man
  4. thanks, thanks Actually, still not as sharp as i would like to achieve. Look at the eyes, not 100% in foucs. All photos have been sharpened a little, as pics from digicam tends to be a bit "soft". My typical settings on USM is Amount=100%, radius=0.5 to 0.8 pix, thres=0 For this shot, I have also darkened and blurred the background a bit to make the subject "pop" out All fish shots are hand-held as its quite impossible to "chase" them with the camera mounted on tripod or pressed against the glass. Since there is no film cost for digicam, i just happily snap away. I would be smiling if i have 1 good shot in 50
  5. Thanks hippo. The A80 is a 4meg digicam. It should give you good results. What problems are you facing ?
  6. Thanks Anthony. Here are some pics of purple queen...
  7. Thanks ryz. No, its not a digital SLR. This one is considered prosumer, similar category as the more popular canon G5
  8. Firefish.....managed to "catch" him "darting"....by luck
  9. Have been having some hands-on on fish shots. Camera used is Minolta D7i. Shooting details are with the pics. Pls feel free to comment.
  10. sorry a bit off topic. Was your camera on auto-focus or you are doing pre-focus manually ? thanks
  11. Impressive shots Rumor. I'm sure there is a lot of hard work behind these quality pics 2 thumbs up!
  12. Wow, very nice professor! Very nice shots too
  13. Found the above from canon website under G5 accessories. I'm not refering to the wide, tele or close-up lens. I think the conversion lens adaptor might be the one. Its just an adapter which enables your camera to use auxiliary filters and lenses. It does nothing without filters/lenses. It fits over the lens and is threaded at the end to accept screw-on filters. It should cost only around $30 odd... and the macro filter around $20 odd..depending on brand... for example hoya +4 macro filter is < $20 Hope i'm not confusing you
  14. Hi Anthony, My jaw almost drop Those photos are awesome! Excellent composition! Very professionally done By the way, i heard from my colleague who owns a G2 that u can buy an adaptor which accepts 58mm filters. With that plus close-up filters, u can get closer shots, that is, if u want to
  15. Just to add on. Using the reef chemistry calculator, you can also arrive at the amount of kalk to drip to get x amount of calcium and alk. http://www.kademani.com/reefchem.htm Keying in those figures in seachem's example yield the same result ; 1.1 gallon to raise 24ppm of calcium :- volume : 150L current cal : 400ppm desired cal : 424 ppm product : limewater (saturated) product required : 1.1 gallons Similarly, this should be used as a guide. my 2 cents
  16. i was assuming it has a threaded adaptor for filters Sorry lah, i don't own a G3 myself
  17. Hi Glare, Pls don't mention. Juz sharing what i know Great shots from your G3 man! Fantastic tank with fantastic camera. What else could one have wished for Hey, what not buy some macro filters to get even closer shots
  18. ok ok, next time midnight hungry, i will call u Wow 20+ kg in 2ft They will be good contribution to your bio filtration
