  1. I am interested in True Lumens Pro LED strip light. Do u know if any shop in Singapore sells this? Thanks in advance.. http://www.current-usa.com/lighting/truelumen-pro-led-striplights
  2. Bro, your tank crashed 6 mths ago? What happened? Any learning lessons for me? Your coral melted or ? Thanks in advance for sharing.
  3. So far so good, Zoas are doing well, open...., my tank also shallow 1 feet only.
  4. Good luck,Bro, start from B1 of SLT
  5. Bro, u study the pattern of the LED, yesterday at SLT B1, I saw something like this in one of the shop but only have in longest is 1m length in aluminum rigid casing, so I didn't buy as I need longer than 1m, guy tell me I have to go and get my own aluminum from some hardware shop in Jalan Besar and he will use flexible LED to mount. But I saw ready made ones like what u posted, u go check it out. If u enter from SLT main entrance, walk down stairs to B1, shop is on the right hand side near the end, he display quite a few LED on a display right..., u go recce...but I dun think they know specification, u need to study the LED pattern, maybe get a printout and see if it's similar. Good luck
  6. Ya, but think at SLT it seem can get quite a wide range now, similar to that website that I posted, just that if u ask shop owner they dun know about specification, u just have to identify them. Most of them also quite busy and they won't be bother entertainment u with the questions and they won't know much about marine tank, etc. That is my observation. Now that my lights are fixed, will be monitor my zoas..and see how they react and grow. Good luck to u on your DIY project.
  7. SMD5050, 300Leds/reel (5m), Flexible LED Strip lights, 3-LED Cuttable, DC12V, 72W/reel, 6A/reel, 120°, 5m/reel, Width : 10mm, On PCB with self-adhesive back. Pure White: 6000-7000K
  8. Seem that I got the SMD5050 tri chip model that is 300 LED per 5m type and it is the brightest at 4000-5000 MCD/LED. See specification chart below. White LED in White background. http://www.ledlightsworld.com/page.html?id=32
  9. Just check this website and realize the LED strip I got from SLT is called waterproof surface injection ( IP65 ) type. http://www.ledlightsworld.com/smd-3528-flexible-led-light-strips-18-leds-p-132.html
  10. On leave today, went down to SLT, got myself from #B1-32: 2x1m flexible LED waterproof pure white, Unlce Boss was kind enough to cut and join, solder for me 45inch length. Took the brightest strip that they have. Using the already attached 3M (provided), stuck the LED next to my IKEA multicoloured LED strip. Am using my existing T5 tube holder as support. This mean I can either on my white T5 or choose to on the LED pure white flexible strip. After comparing the 2, the pure white LED that I got is brighter. Damage: 1. 2x $27 ( for the LED strips) 2. AC-DC adaptor12v = $11 3. 1xswitch= $1.50 4. 1m cable FOC 5. 2connector from LED strip to AC-DC 12v adaptor FOC Total= $66.50 Went to the Continental electronics that was recommended, but shop was quite busy, stumble on the small corner shop at B1-32. Uncle boss said normally he dun solder for customer but as it was early in the morning, he was free, so do it as a goodwill gesture. Thus saved me the trouble of buying solder gun and solder. He was kind enough not to charge me. The waterproof LED strip I got is basically the flexible type that is cover with a clear rubber coating. Quite a few shops do carry this . I wanted a complete piece of 4feet long or 45 inch long but non have this. Most LED strip come in 1m length. Saw a few shops with regid LED strip on aluminum backing as well but max. 1m long. One shop even have a 1m length rigid LED tube with mixture of pure white and blue. Owner told me it is for marine, price was $288, look kinda of solid type unlike the LED flexible strip. This come with 2 hanging chain to secure from above. Will post some pics when I can.
  11. Got this website, seem that they have wide range of LED strips and different type, flexible , rigid, waterproof, non waterproof, etc. Seem that majority Using SMD3528 and smd5050 LED chip. Only thing, order line, need to incur freight, etc. http://www.ledlightsworld.com/
  12. Thanks for the info . So similar, maybe from same china oem factory...
  13. Ok, thanks. Wonder what is the price comparison between Skimz vs Dymax IQ? is it fair to compare? Probably design and look similar , wonder if equipment wise behind the box is similar in terms of function. Which is better value for $. Saw the Skimz and Dymax IQ before but didn't bother to study. Always thought so cute, maybe good for study desk..in room..
  14. OK , thanks for the good advice. I would reckon that the 3M double side tape would also not be advisable?
  15. what about Dymax IQ3 and IQ5? Any reason why it is not on this list for your consideration? But if just this 3, then my choice is the Shimz, which I think should be quite obvious in the poll. Look neat ans slick
