Anyway,does anyone out there who dun use MKT prawn to cycle tank one???Pls advise..........as my csm(WIFE) at hm dun like e idea of throwing a mkt prawn in as she says beri e smelly kekeke

oooo... As for my sand,10kg is old one fm e former owner...but i got wash it as it is very e dirty n smelly...... Actually during my cycle,i oso add in a medication call CYCLE fm nutrafin..It state tat it have beneficial bacteria to consume nh4 n nitrite lor...Dun noe tis helps anot??? Do u think i shld cycle e tank for a few more days n test e water again b4 adding fishes???huh???

Hi everyone,ned some advise n comments on these reading fm my test kit. .. Jzt did my Test on my water wic have jzt being cycle for 10days..... Abit of info on my setup.... Tank size 3by1.5by2ft Sand:20kg so abt 2inch high onli... LR:Ard 30kg bought fm previous owner(With him for 1.5yr liao ard,so got alot of purple color algae on it liao).N extra 4kg newly get fm fish shop... I throw all e LR in fm day 1 i cycle e water.... Till today,i can c afew creature like feature dust worm i think tats wat they r call living on some of tis LR... Temp:27.1degree SG:1.022 Test kit fm Red Sea PH:8.2 Alk:Normal NH4:0ppm NO2:0ppm NO3:2.5ppm I nvr add any mkt prawn in to bulid up e NH4 during cycling as some of e guys told me tat e die off fm e LR will create some of e NH4 oso.... So can anyone advise me on wat is e condition of my cycle water now?? Is it gd to intro some fish in to try out or continue to cycle e tank for 1 more wk etc???N wat r e reading tat i shld have???Tkstks...... Pls advise me....Tks

wow ur tank is big man.,... How i wish my huse can put in sure big tank.... So u reali dun detect any NH4 ah during ur cycling???? So if e LR is fully mature,e bat living inside can reali help to break down NH4 ah?? Anyway i oso reuse e bioballs n ceramic ring fm e previous owner..He used ard 1000bioballs i think...I nvr wash it at all when i bring it home as he say some bat might still b in it so dun wash it..huh????

Anyway my tank size is 3by1.5by2ft......n i got abt 35kg of LR....30kg use for 1yr plus liao..

1st of all,tks for all e advise bros.. n merry meery xmas to u guys. ... Yah.. my LR have being w e owner for abt 1yr plus liao b4 i bought it over..I jzt get 1 extra 4kg LR big one to add in..N it seems tat tis new piece of LR got afew Feature dust worm (I THINK )growing on it...Quite alife to me...As for e rest of e "old" LR...Most of them turn purple liao...n 1 or two piece oso got e feature dust worm on them..Abit bit onli as compare to e new one...I even discover i white color creature tat lok like a snail crawling on e LR.Beri beri e small.. N tis morn i found one creature sticking on my tank.Totally white in color crawling on e tank glass...Doesnt lok like a snail as it dun hav shell...Lok more like a worm..All white in color oso....Wonderin how did it end up on e glass???huh??? I nvr add any mkt prawn to build up e NH4 during cycling as some ppl told me tat if i add LR in fm e start,there will surely hav some die off n it will create NH4 oso.... Its 1wk liao for my cycling,So does it mean tat i have to start testing for my PH,NH4,NO2 n NO3??How abt ALK??? So its how many days do 1 test???N wat r e acceptable reading????tks

Oic.... Is there a diff bet another type of fern like flower??I got another one tat is brown in color one instead of red...oso will disappear when no lgt n appear when got lgt...keke..

yah something like tis..but it is more red in color instead of ur pic showning more white...n beside e feather,it still got a body like a worm i THINK..As i onli saw a little bit of it black color body out with e feather fern leh....MOst if it hiding inside e small hole...Will it bite or sting??? Hi, Im new to tis hobby n jzt started cycling my tank for jzt 3days onli ... Got afew qn n doubt tat i hope someone out there could advise me on... 1.My hydrometer have a temp of 25degree imprint outside.Does it meant that my water temp have to be at 25degree to get e correct reading??My tank temp is ard 28-29degree with one T4 24w light on..So wat shld my hydrometer reading be for tis temp of bet 28-29degree???Tks 2.Im using Nutrafin Biological Aquarium Supplement Cycle medication wic state tat it will consume ammonia n nitrite n help in cycle new tank...Have anyone use it??N does it reali help??Tks 3.Will topping up of water due to Evaporation affect e cycling of tank???I always add abit of decholrine medication be4 topping up e water. 4.Will coral survive w a temp of below 29degree without chiller??How abt fishes?? 5.Cfm aft 2wks,i can test e water for PH,Ammonia n nitrate.If all is to e correct reading,cfm i must change 10percent of water b4 i can add one NEMO in to ck out e water?? 6.Wat r e things to lok out for or can i do for e tank during tis cycling period??Liking adding wat stuff in etc to sped up e process??? 7.I have added in LR to cycle with e tank.E LR is bought fm another owner who have use it for 1.5yrs liao.So some r purple in color liao...Is tat alge or wat???Y purple in color one??? Hi Anybody got any reliable delivery services or transportation for deliverin a 3 X 2 X 2 fish tank with cabinet, 40kg of LRs, 10kg of sand and plus d 2ft sump tank? Delivery will b at nite ard 6.30pm onwards. Pls advise. Tks a lot!

tks for all e suggestion. Actually im looking for a 3ft by 2ft by 2ft with 10mm thickness plus cabinet.Oso w e sump tank n pipling all done. Got a shop offering me $1500 for all e above + lgt n pump in it. Another deal is $2500 with all e above plus 40kg of live rocks,12 coral n 12 fishes of any value..N of course plus setup oso...Is 12 coral too much w/o a chiller???huh??? Do u guys think its a gd deal?? huh..... Actually im new to all tis lor..So wan to lok for a package things to prevent later go buy other parts myself then cannot fit... Any advise for a newbies lik me??? tks...
