  1. Yes, I am Mark and nice to meet you too. Did you manage adopt a dog from Gentle Paws & Friends?
  2. Dear All Reef & Marine Lovers who are also Animals Lovers Pls do spend some time to participate in providing your feedback on pet ownership in SG. Your valuable feedback in this public consultation by MND will help to save many strays who are being put down becoz they can't find a home esp with the current policy that prohibits mongrels to be kept in HBD flats. The Govt shd ease this current policy against keeping medium-sized dogs esp mongrels in HDB flats, as such a liberal move will help to find homes for mongrels or what we call "Singapore Specials". Pls help the strays n help with advocating a more Gracious society in SG. Closing of the public consultatino is 31 Oct' 11. Many Thanks. 3. Sea Life has new shipment from Red Sea and Hawaii shipment this weekend wor : )
  4. I installed a reef octopus biopellet reactor about a month plus. My elegance was doing well but recently has started to recede and die. HIAZZZ
  5. Hi James, thanks. Lately my elegance are dying and I don't know what is the cause since my other LPS are doing okay.
  6. Dear Fellow Reefers My PH tend to be high at around 8.45. This happened after I changed my salt mix from Tropic Marin Reef Pro to H2Ocean Pro. Now I have reverted back to Tropic Marin Reef Pro but the PH level is still above 8.4. Appreciate if any fellow reefers out there can recommend ways to bring down the PH level. I do a weekly water change since I set up my tank since last Dec, which is abt 8 months old. Many thanks in advance : )
  7. Queen angel is rare so I think pple will tend not to sell away such a beautiful fish. Sealife has quite a few, I was down there on National Day. Cost about 20 red notes.
  8. Harlequin Shrimps are pretty but isn't it a bit Hmmmm "cruel" to feed them with star fish. I know this is what happens in the wild but can the Harlequin Shrimp be re-conditioned to eat something else instead?
  9. And our gracious Govt receives them in open arms...perhaps a fast solutiont to control the strays in SG. Most recently some barbaric china woman tortured a kitten by dipping the poor cat in and out of a dirty drain. Nature will have her own ways to avenge for the kitten....
  10. Sealife at Balestier has some flame angels..was there yesterday. Cost.abt 4 reds. Staff there are friendly.
  11. Thanks. I was advised to put the inlet after mechnical filtration and the outlet as near to the skimmer as possible. Thanks for your reaffirmation.
  12. Dear Fellow Reefers Can someone please kindly advise which part of the sump should I place the Biopellet-Reactor? My sump has 4 Compartments, namely: - 1. Water flows in from the overflow outlet of the tank into the first compartment with filtration media, then water passes thru... 2. compartment with protein skimmer, flow thru... 3. Refugium with sand and gracillaria, caulerpa & Chaeto... 4. Lastly a pump that pumps back water into the tank above. So which compartment should I place the biopellet reactor: 1, 2, 3 or 4? Many thanks for your kind advice in advance. TGIF Mark
  13. Hello Reef Experts If I add Corall A, B & C on weekly basis after 10% water change, it is not necessary to add Salifert All-in-one Trace Elements, right? If I were to add both, can an overdose cause any harm? Thanks for any kind advice on this in advance. Mark : )
  14. Hi Thairun..thanks vm for your help. Good week ahead Mark
  15. Hello fellow reefers My PH is 8.1 and my Alkalinity is 7.4dKH. What is the best way to increase Alkalinity to 8dKH? Thank you for your advice in advance.
  16. Thanks I was ogling on a clown trigger the other day
  17. Thanks both for the lead. : )
  18. Hihi I have a 4 x 2 x 2.5ft tank. If there a guide (website) that will help me to DIY an algae scrubber? and where do I place it? in the sump? Thanks Thanks for any kind advice in advance. Cheerio
  19. Dear Reefer Anyone keen to adopt a rescued Italian greyhound at one of the puppy mills in S'pore last weekend. I don't seem to be able to download the photos of the Italian Greyhound here. Message me at 92308844 and I can send you the pic via the phone. So sorry abt this. These bastards at the dog mills have no basic fundamental humanity or any form of respect for life and will put down dogs and cats when these dogs and cats have run the end of their usefulness in conceiving and reproducing puppies and kittens to make way for newer and younger dogs and cats. They are all in this business for the money and they don't care if the animals are happy and they don't provide these animals with the very basic care. One of my friends help out at Dogmillrehomers and he has rescured two Italian Greyhounds last weekend and are looking to rehome them. Dogmillrehomers go around the island and all the dog mills in S'pore to save these animals and as you would imagine, they need to quickly find home for these abandoned animals so that they can rescue and save more. Unfortunately some of these animals who are saved are in such bad condition and shape that sometimes they need to humanly put the animals down. I just adopted a shih tsu yesterday who was also rescued from the dog mill. Please let me know if you are interested to adopt the italian greyhound or any other rescued dogs from the link below:- Do help to spread the word as it is only a click away be it a simple SMS text or Email msg. http://dogmilllrehomers.blogspot.com/ Btw, for those who head down to Iwarna for their weekly shopping, why not drop by Mutts & Mittens for a 2-day gathering - Saturday 16 April 2011 11am to 5pm and Sunday 17 April 2011 11am to 5pm 11 Pasir Ris Farmway 2, Singapore 519326. Mutts and Mittens are located on the same stretch of the road as Iwarna, as you approach the T junction facing Erisson Pet, turn left and Mutts and Mittens is at the end of the round about. So instead of turning right to Iwarna first, turn left to Mutts and Mittens for a 2-day Donation Drive at the Flea Market and an Adoption Drive. Thanks for your kind attention and help in advance : ) Mark
  20. Are all Trigger fishes NOT Reef-Safe? Any kind advice and guidance are appreciated. Thank You
  21. Just make sure you don't point your wave maker at any corals. I usually put up so it will create ripples n help with circulation in the tank.
  22. They are like nomads, always moving around till they find a permanent spot and plant themselves there. Make sure it doesn't get drifted and get sucked by the wave maker. Mine almost did....
  23. I just visited AquaMarin (Upper Paya Lebar) they hv loads there, small ones and larger ones going for 12 -16 bucks each.
