  1. Hmmm ok i was planning on those strips in sim lim for diy. Anyone has a take on that or experience to share for coral growth as compared to t5 lights? Comparision is 2bulbs t5 2ft fixture which is 48 watts for both bulbs added. If led strips are plausible, please advice on number of bulbs per metre and how many strips and the ratio of white : blue? Thanks all!:)

  2. so live sand do help to cycle the tank better as its alive...

hmm..think i will buy fm fish farm that have those live sand cultivated in their tank alrdy..but come to think of it those cultivated in tank one will it have alrdy collected alot of dirt?? Was worrie abt tis issue..

Jireh has some cured live sand but aragonite is better, do some research to compare and confirm.:) there's bound to be dirt and stuff in packed ones too...:) best is still to get some from tank to seed those packed ones as packed ones are sort of unused... That's just my opinion as no one knows how long its in that tank.:D

  3. will a live sand with 2-3inches be able to help in cultivate bacteria in the main tank?? or must it be 6inches dep??

Also if keeping warsse etc,is it consider sand digging fishes??

    thks

Deep sand bed cultivates more of both aerobic and anaerobic bacteria. 2-3 inches more to aerobic, rmb reading that aerobic for converting ammonia to nitrite and then anaerobic for nitrate if km not wrong...:) fishes wise, have to check each of their own characteristics. Sorry...:) eggcrates is more for preventing rocks from toppling straight and break glass. Recommended but its your call since u work with barebottom before..:)

Anw with eggcrates or not, best is to stack your rocks then pour in sand...:)

  4. Hmmm consider any sand digging fishes etc.(finer sand would be better if u have). I would get the packed live sand and alittle from those cured in tanks to jumpstart the bacteria process. 2-3 inches would be good but if u plan for a deep sand bed arnd 5-6 inches at least to cultivate anaerobic bacteria for nitrate but too high not that nice to look also? This is from what i read though...:) try using deep sand bed in your sump or refugium if u planning to use the sand bed for its bacteria cultivation.:) hope i helped...:)

  5. my true clown also duo zai duo nan

first got fin rot...last week 1 fin under belly always fold up .. after melafix now stable and extendable ...

  6. hi all, as mentioned above, i have been having problems keeping clowns as they keep getting white spots on the whole body and dies days or weeks after. My blue and yellow tangs survived the ich without issues and are clear now but my clowns just dies... Anyone please help? If i do hypo or copper treatment, i would still put the fish into the infected tank after... Really desperate for help...:(

Oh yaa im feeding reef gourmet garlic X, got skunks and tried protomarin coral which i thought worked but just came back again... Sighhh:(

  7. hows your battle with cyano? you should try the amox anti-bacteria capsule. Works wonders...but got to check and adjust your water parameters after that so it won't appear again.

I dose brightswell aquatics microbacter and red sea no3 po4 X... Guess u should be able to gauge how sucessful i am.... :( where can i get that amox capsule and will it clear beneficial bacteria also? I thought of trying red slime remover though...

  8. Bro finind, I'm using those normal LED strips found at sim lim.... you just need to find those that can handle about 10W per strips..if i'm not wrong.

Bro Ezie, Yup all my corals doing well with the light and no salt crystals, no rust yet... except that recently the PH went a little on the 8.0 reading... and was low on KH... and there was some posphate... so had to counter with Goodbye P04 and some KH Buffer... everything back to normal :)

Btw ur leds are how many bulbs per metre? I asked the shop auntie how many watts/m and she said depends on how many bulbs i want... Lol! Lost...:/
