Acanthus, that is bad advice.
You should NOT disturb a DSB or it'll never perform its denitrification work.
These anoxic areas/anaerobic areas is where denitrifying bacteria thrives... causing these areas to get oxygen means you'll them them off. Hydrogen sulfide is normal and will eventually find a way to dissipate out on its own by diffusion. No harm will come to your reef inhabitants as such.
If you disturb the deep sand bed and release hydrogen sulfide all at once, then its your own look out.
Hi,
Wat I read on DSB is that it needs bristtle worms to stir the inside so that it'll will not clog up and eventually crash.
so wat is correct?

hw many do u have in your tank?

u can't get Carberryi Anthias ($40+) at the price of Dispar ($6-8), bro Carberryi got a yellow stripe/patch near its dorsal fins.. hard to c one ... ha .. my super-simple differentiation...

My bro bot a tri-color one recently and left it there, thinking of collecting it ltr. He went back after 1 week to collect his stuff, din check, came home and found his tri-color became a blue one instead! some a$$h@l3 swipe his one and changed it with another color. can't believe wat some ppl can do!
-
not sure why, but my sunbursts seem to prefer homecooked food instead.
-

Anyone spotted any in LFS? I got one about 1/2 inch size. Thinking of getting one more for mated pair.
the last place i saw them at was in harlequin and lck 110. that was 3 weeks ago.
u've gotta try to match them n see if they'll pair up. $25 is too expensive for me to try.
-
bot mine for $10 at crane rd. saw x-mas at lck 110.

I am also wondering why so many of you give praises to PR? Because No.1 they are always empty...no stock like 5 days of the week. No.2 price is also high.
As for Derf, well sometimes its just our luck....so next time dun go there lor. The moment we buy a life pet....sorry man onus is on the buyer...dude that's life.
I would say places like ML, SL, HLQ, TP, CF, PM, LCK1**, T95, RB are worth the time and effort to go down to shop. The rest i have almost been to see either the same empty tank or the same old stuff.
er...i dun hv any prob wif my fish from PR.
-
went to bangkok, chutuchuk last weekend. saw alot os harlequin shrimps for sale. best part of it is that they are mated pairs. cost ard $60/pair. They are collected from phuket.
-
doesn't really matter. there's isn't much difference. at least i've got 'ronaldo' in my tank! :D
-
guppy, those $4 to $6 range are dottybacks and not grammas...
derf, there is a difference between royal gramma and brazilian gramma... the royal gramma colours are more vibrant...
How I know? Cause I bought a brazilian and few weeks later, happen to chance upon a Royal (my friend's)... then I realise the difference...
If u get to see both, then u know what I mean... brazilian colour not so bright and vibrant... and it doesn't have that beautiful "full eyelash" as royal does...
yup! saw the royal gramma at ML, color's fuller, more vibrant wif the blind folded eyes.
my brazilian gramma looks like it did not shave for a few weeks!
