    Bro dream, how many fish you have in your current tank. What skimmer are you using? How much do you feed your fish?

    Method to bring down no3:

    Bio pellet & bacteria dosing

    Bacteria & vodka dosing

    Fastest way water change 50% if worry salt use up too fast can purchase sea water from LCK, iwarna, ah beng. $2 for 20L.

    I thought no fish should be better for SPS?

    Nope base on what I see bali, Australia coral do well and better in colour with No3 less then 5ppm but for fiji coral do hold pale colour no3 need to be near 0. It depend on what colour you want your sps to be pale or more intense colour.

    Hi all,

     

    After reefing for 9 month with a 1.5 cube tank, I finally decided to start a 4 feet X 70 cm x 16 inch shallow reef with Aluminum frame. Just commissioned a tank maker to do up one and should be ready in 3 weeks time. Thinking of reused most of my existing equipment but realised some may not be sufficient to run a 4 footer.

     

     

    Current equipment in my system:

     

     -Skimmer-Bubble Magus 1.5

     -Diablo DC pump 3000

     -HS 66 chiller

     -Pharos LED 90 Watts

     -WP 25

     

     

    Equipment bought so far for the new tank:

     

    -Reef Octopus 3000 SSS Internal

    -Light (not decided)

    -Chiller (current system sufficient?)

    -Return pump--thinking of Diablo DC 10,500 or Waveline 10,000..

    -Add 1 more WP 40

    -Add 1 FR reactor

    -Dosing pump from current system

     

    Any suggestion for a LED light and the Chiller be sufficient? I plan to keep SPS and LPS...

    Was toying the idea of AI Hydra cos the costs are lower compare to Vega & Radion.

    Why not for led try razor, bro evolution using and keep sps too and price wise quite low. Another is to diy your LED and import direct from china. For chiller should be enough since your height is lower also. 66A should be 1/4 horse also depend on the temperature you want to set if 26-27 no issue

    Thank you bro for your input. i am new in starting bid, your advice is precious. Tot most reefer will knw the costing of a red Goino. Anyway Mod, may i check can i cancel tis bid and start a new 1 maybe? Sorry for all the trouble caused. :ThanxSmiley:
    Bro you need a better and clearer picture of red goino. Because red goino also alot of type. GO sell two type of red goino also. Maybe with better picture will help your sales alot. You can cancel your bids just post on your sales and ask mod to help to close thread then you create new thread.

    I think it also depends on tank size... I (in my masterplan 2020) would love to have a 6 ft big marine fish only tank. If the tank is big enough, I don't think we need to have chiller to keep water temp at 27-28 deg cel especially when we also have a huge sump reservoir. But for smaller tanks 3ft and under, then should have chiller to maintain water temp stability. My 3.5ft tank without chiller goes up to 31 deg cel.
    It also depend on the equipment you use. MH and T5 temperature sure go up sky high but if leds temperature alot better. And bigger tank also depend on your overflow rate is it very fast. If fast cooling rate will be better and evaporation rate also fast. If use alot of heat equipment like pump or wavemaker also will add more heat. So best advice run chiller.

    Yep. Experiencing that. So working around to feed heavier to let the sps work out better. Testing parameters around.

    No effect noticed on softies and lps. Looking to bump Ca higher to 480 or maybe 500.

    Testing a new limit.

    CA I try before above 500 sps colour lose. So best don't try.

    My KH 14.4 last measured. Sps got a shock but recovering. Mg hit above 1500 but Calcium level balancing out at 430.

    All measured with Salifert.

    MG high not that bad. My KH I keep at 8 & MG 1400 above and CA 420. KH high risky for sps bleach too long need very long to colour back or can't even colour back.
