Can't really answer that becos:
* As you can see, mine is a 4 footer & i have never try it on 3 feet tank.
* It also depend on ambient temp, heat load, etc..
* As for the noise, I think is acceptable.

Tropic MG has more effect than Seachem's? I added 10 full teaspoons to a cup of water and the mg raised by 10-15ppm only!
The fastest & most cost effective way to raise mg (for me) is to use Epson Salt. It can be purchased from NTUC or Guardian. One box of epson salt cost about $3+ & it can increase mg level by about 100ppm for a 4*2*2!

I will still hv biohome in my sump tank,200 bioball in my overflow box, skimmer and total 40 kg of LR,should be enough to handle the load somemore currently only hv 4 fish in my tank.
Bio balls are out-dated, & are considered nitrate factory. Try DSB & more LRs.

Yes! it try to swallow my green chromis, when I realise, it was too late, the fish was barely alive. IMO, not a good coral to have.

I presume is ceramic ring. You should remove it slowly & at the same time, monitor your water parameters. The other thing to consider is whether your tank can handle the bioload w/o the cr & biohome that you are going to remove.

if drilling a hole is too much trouble, you can get a i-box(was it called i-box?), it can do the job as well. Using 2 pumps is asking for troubles.

on what condition will alk be an issue?
it reduces ph level right?
What I meant is if you just want to increase your calcium level w/o affecting your alk, use the above products.

Ca level should be targeted at 400-450ppm. You can use turbo calcium(Kent Marine) or calcium plus(Reeftez) to increase your calcium if alk is no a issue. Some corals are considered high-calcium intake while others are not.
