  1. Just curious or stupid question. I always pay cash for livestocks at Reborn. But I think they have nets machine at the dry goods store. Do they accept nets also for Livestocks?
  2. Heard of that too but its highly unlikely.. you can disturb them to the core and still not see it.. they are way more tolerant unlike squids..
  3. Yeah.. actually Tomini tangs also do not grow very big or fast.. They can be quite suitable for small tanks..
  4. Nope but they are kinda weird looking. Amusing to look at for a while but it looks ugly.. and not good if you have wavemakers.. I kept before.. it crawled into the wavemaker from the front, got stucked and died in there. And its damn icky when I tried to tear it out . No they are not poisonous.. just stupid..
  5. Voice recognition software is also not something new.. it may be better at recognizing but still a learning one is better.. I have people in my office swear by Dragon Naturally Speaking software. But you will need to keep the program learning to have very accurate voice recognition. Integrating this to other functions shouldn't be hard.. I always find the non-learning kind are not catered to Asian voices.
  6. Sounds similar to the virtual keyboard I have, http://www.celluon.com/products/laserkey1_2.htm?sm=2_1.. Nothing new, besides its projection thingy.. it still uses infra-red for sensing.. anyway, they still need to improve the sensitivity and response on these things.. They work but are just too unresponsive so everything must be at slow to moderate speed. Can't do things too fast..
  7. Just remembered there is also another Tang that eats algae.. very hardworking. Tomini Tangs... Also somewhat dull colored fish.. hehe But beware.. it shits ALOT.. lol..
  8. hehe.. nice fish dun eat algae.. so far its always the dull colored ones.. people say Yellow Tangs too.. I haven't seen mine pecking on algae before. Red slime is cause by low flow.. try directing your wavemaker to the area.. it helps alot.
  9. So what if you got more than 20ltrs at the checkpoint? They take a hose and suck out the fuel? Or they put your car on a roller platform and run it till its <20ltrs?
  10. Actually a good rule of thumb in setting up is to make it as self sustained as possible.. Eg If you use MH lights, get a temp control on it, Auto water top-up if possible, Auto feeder, 2 returns, UPS(es) on wavemaker(s) (UPS on return is not quiet sustainable unless you got a big a*s UPS ), Denitrator, etc.. It will somehow give you an ease of mind even if you leave unattended for a week or two.
  11. Its good to have 2 returns.. I have had pump stuck for a whole day because a damn eel climbed in there. With a second return, it guarantees a return flow. Also I had times where the return breaks down (inevitable).. like recent bloated OR6500 impeller. At least I have my second return to depend on that day. UPS for wavemakers is a good idea.. in case of a major trip and no ones at home, water will still have a decent flow for that few hours.. This is more of prolonging the 'life' of your unattended tank before it crashes.. Even if you have never experienced trips at your home before, though not frequent, HDB does occasional power maintenance. Power shutdown usually span few hours. Or worst, like many years back where a whole area in Singapore power failure.. I believe many people's tank crashed that day..
  12. Not sure about other distributor selling it, I know Chill-Down have them.. Its good to use one of these, compared to depending on the internal temp control.
  13. I think this is the distributor www.eastoceansg.com .
  14. Someone who is not in this scene anymore.. I can't remember the distributor he got it from.. I think the shop is around Chinatown or somethin.. anyway, I don't think you can get it at that price even if you get from that shop directly.. In fact both Hailea's I got are from people/companies who had a saga here before they disappeared from the scene.. .. quiet sad for a small community..
  15. Yeah.. if you fix up an external temp monitor, there wouldn't be an issue to worry about.. Hehe.. so the mkt price did change.. I bought mine both with 1 yr warranty.. the 1000 model was about $600.
  16. HC 500A not bad.. quiet and works as it should.. And at what, $400+ (dunno the mkt price now)? What's to complain if it can last more than a yr or 2? My last one lasted about a yr+ I think, before I sold it off. The 1000 model is a different story.. my complain with it is noise..
  17. Why is your skimmer on timer? You mean 2-7am you LS do not give out waste? The main purpose of the skimmer is to get out waste, uneaten food, etc, quickest time possible so they do not break down..
  18. So ultimately Singapore striving to to be a green city still kills the earth with the constant and increasing need for oil?.. nice.. the increase in oil price only make people pay more to the govt and never to reduce.. increasing number of people with cars is a great example..
  19. I thought Singapore is striving to be a green city? Maybe they should be looking at reducing the use of damn oil to generate electricity..

  21. So sad .. or maybe you should upgrade to relive your interest.. hehe..
  22. Thats what I'm looking for.. BTW how much roughly is a new one?
  23. Just found out that my OR6500 got bloated and stopped moving.. Looking for a replacement if anyone has.
