Hi all, I just purchased a CL280 chiller, and purchased a Dymax eph2000 to power the chiller. have placed the powerhead in the tank. Everything is running smoothly, the water flow through the power head is excellent. However, there is this crackling sound, as if it is choked or something. When i disconnected the hose leading out of the powerhead (in the tank) the crackling sound stops. Does that mean that the powerhead is too strong? Or is there something wrong with my plumbing? should i shorten excessive hose lengths? from the looks of it, the max i can cut down is 10 - 15cm. The powerhead is brand new. Any help from anyone? thanks in advance!

I just got a chiller after 3 years. heheheheh! what is the normal temperature you guys set? My tank is 2.5 x 1.5 x 1.5 read its 25 degrees. but normally see 26 - 27 in shops. whats the best temperature for LPS?

Thanks hotlemond for your links. very useful. but isn't CL 650 too large a capacity for my tank? its 2.5 x 1.5 x 1.5 ft. thats about 160 odd litres.

Don't think i would be upgrading my tank anytime in the next 5 years. is the CL 650 the correct model for the size of m tank?

What are the cheaper models i could purchase ranging to the higher end ones? also, durability and noise level. if i wiould to purchase a certain chiller, would it be able to last for for 3 years. are repairs/ parts expensive? can they be serviced? hi all, please comment on above, using 3 x 39 watts T5s on me 2.5 x 1.5 x 1.5. filtration: 2 x cannisters weipro 2011 skimmer. no SPS, only LPS. so far have a pH and nitrate kit. thinking of getting one or 2 more test kits. which ones u guys think i should have?

after going true this forum, i think its cynao and not diatoms. heh heh. can't be my water flow, using 2 cannister filters, so water flow is quite substantial. how else to remove this nuisance?

hi guys, my sand bed is getting brown with algae. do not think its cyno as its filmy. and its producing oxygen bubbles like in a planted freshwater tank! i think its occuring since i change my lighting to 3 x 39watts T5 lights. am i right..? is there anyway to reduce the algae problem? me tank is a 2.5 x 1.5 x1.5 Cheers iX

maybe ur anemone still new to its environment. how long have u had it. maybe its moving ard,

my anemone has ran to the back of the tank and refuses to come out. everytime i painstakingly remove him and place him somewhere with good water flow and light, he still runs. is there any method to make him stick on for dear life, and not run anymore? Cheerios.

how about hermit crabs? sally light foots? or the scarlets?>
