Cyanobateria??? What are those?? And how do I get rid of them.... What are the harmful effects of such stuff?? Do help pls..

I had one of those brown algae bloom last month, now red and black algae starting to appear on my LR... are those ok??

Oh.. I have poly filter in my sump tank too and they are actually turning green... Is it ok??

yah put in 3 fishes and my sump increased to 2 1/2 ft

I got a 2 1/2 sump tank, with a protein skimmer in it, some taiwanese brand skimmer powered by an ard 2000l/h powerhead.... Have a DSB in my sump tank too plus coral sand, poly filter and normal filter wool used for filtering. Started in Dec, so going into my thrid month soon.... Only got 6 small fishes and a few mushrooms and a clam in tank, stocking slowly. I feed once a day due to my hectic schedule in school....

Oh and the thing to control the flow can get from Petmart, 100% PVC, compatible to all eheim pipes...

Oh thanks for all the posts. I already changed the configuration of my outflow... Now using eheim 2400l/h for my 3 ft tank... Working really well now...

I just redid my sump, upgraded from 2 ft to 2 1/2 ft for my 3 ft main tank. I got my coral sand from the shop beside reborn and the remaining from petmart.. think they shd still have it. Good luck

Oh then would they TERRORIZE my other fishes??? Maybe my house would be filled with US marines soon....

Anyone has any suggestion as to wat type of return pump I shd use for my 3 ft tank? And what is the price of it.. Is there anyone that I can control the flow rate cos I had a problem when my last one drew all the water out from my sump tank into the main tank.

Flame angel is pretty but kinda of fierce and nibble on the corals as well, up to U. If U like then keep lor...

After seeing Phang's tank yesterday, I am inspired to increase the capacity of my sump tank, going to convert my 2 1/2 ft LH tank into a sump tank and increase the size of my protein skimmer. Anyone has any recommendation on what I shd add to the sump?? I have coral chips, volcano stones, poly filter and normal filter now... Anything else I should add?? Oh... Should I remove my bio balls???

They just reappeared...Nothing wrong with them, eating fine too... And for the Q tank, hmm...wait till my hols then settle it... Now super busy with my school work..

I think U can buy a sponge, it will finish it in no time.... I had a few butterflies in the past, sold it cos they were nibbling on my corals.

Pls help me!!! First it was my anthias, now its my wrasses.. Anyone know what is happening?? I bought 3 wrasses today and added them to my main tank before I went for dinner. By the time I came back from home, all of them disappeared. At first I thought they were hiding so I removed all my LR since my corals haben been added and to my shock, all were gone.. Can anyone explain this??? the last time this happen was to my three anthias... I cant go on like this, burn hole in my poacket leh...
