  1. I think $150 for all these items seems like a good deal. Subjected to the conditions of these items.

If the question is in filtration, I think the back chamber should provide enough space for medias, for a lightly stocked tank.

What you need to consider is, the small compartment size will limit the Skimmer size. There will a be limited number of good skimmer with footprint that can fit inside, so you won’t have much options.

You need to consider how you want to pipe the Chiller IN&OUT. Using 1 pump for return and another pump for chiller? If so, does sump have enough space to fit 2 pumps. Or if using only 1 pump for both chiller and return, you may need a stronger(bigger) pump, then will the bigger pump fit inside the sump?

Best you look at the dimensions and check what equipment options can fit inside the sump and if you are comfortable with these options.

  2. If you are really only going to have 2 clowns and some corals, then I would think either a skimmer or refugium or ATS would be sufficient. Your HOB Power Filter would mainly serve as Mechanical Filter, as there’s usually not much space for Bio Filter media.  So unless you have tons of LR inside the tank, else it would be good to add another HOB for Biological Filter. That said, HOB increases water loss due to evaporation. So you need to think about too many HOBs, and if to add a ATO system.

For those that are concerned about wandering Anemones getting juiced by water maker or walking/covering other corals in your tank. Toadstool coral would be the best host, in my opinion.

This is the 2nd toadstool my (same) clowns have hosted, after my RBTA and 1st Toadstool were gone.

Guess I was lucky my clowns hosted easily on any fleshy corals.

I think my Toadstool think it’s a Clam, lol.

The other option is calcium reactor.. buts it’s not convenient to setup. Unless you can manual dose regularly throughout e day, dosing pump is the way to go.

Any reasons why you are not considering a dosing pump?

Have heard many stories of Dosing error crashing tank. My tank location is not where I stay, thus can’t check on the pump frequently. One error, all gone.

  5. Are the “floating matters” always there or occasionally seen?

You need to establish if these are being churned up from within the display area itself or are being thrown up from your sump.

if Sump, then it’s time to clean the sump and probably the bio media.

If from display, can have several reasons. A few of them like, maybe your flow is too strong. To me,  2 wave makers for what I think looks like a 2ft tank is a bit overkill. Or you added something into tank that redirected the flow pattern thus new flow stream is flushing out dead areas.

Howeve in general, these should slowly clear up, as your water is being slowly filtered through your filter sponge.
