  1. I agree with patrick123. you should use fengshui to your advantage. My parents used to go to those temple and after that come back with lots of funny ideas. I countered by reading FS books and slowly showed that that FS is a science and not supersitions. I shared with them the real way of practicing FS and soon they are always checking with me before they want to move anything in the house. FYI, FS must be raed on location, cannot remotely read FS. To read FS, the master needs all occupant DOB, when the house was build and the layout of house before setting appointment to physically read your house. When he arrived he will have to take bearings of your flat, house, individual rooms and toilets. Afterwhich he still have to check on the placement of furnishing at your place. So how the hell can someone do it remotely! So maybe you could slowly convert your dad loh, remember the pen is mightier that the sword. Cheers,
  2. Hi Bros & Sis, Anybody any experience? Please help? I think I will start the ball rolling. I have had the Electric Flame Scallop for five days now. Below are my observations. Day 1 Morning: Acclimatize slowing using airtube to mix with tank water. Realeased into the front park of tank and 1 min later it is hidding at the back of tank below LR. Tentacles extended, able to see electric current. Stayed that way till day 2 night. Day 2 Night: Same position. Dose phyto & garlic. Tentacles extended, able to see electric current. Day 3 Morning: Discovered that positioned have shifted due to hermit passing by. Closed clams, able to see small amount of tentacles. Stay that way still Day 4 Night. Day 4 Night: Started to be comfortable in new position. Started to exposed tentacles and open up. Dose phyto & garlic. Day 5 Morning: Same position. Opening more and facing direction of current.
  3. 2 weks ago, I went to the LFS opposite Farmmart the one with the "Our Fish are Quaratined" sign. I saw a anemone and was casually asking the guy what is it and guess what he reply????? "Alo Vera" Sometimes just got to take what they say with a pinch of salt.
  4. Hi Blurclown, If you do not have Skimmer than you will have to change water frequently. You can check out www.nano-reef.com, they are people who are dedicated to small tank. Inside you will also find ways of maintaining a small but healthy tank. Hope this help. Cheers,
  5. Yah loh, in fact, if you go there on Saturday morning, you will see some LFS owners going there to buy from them. So I will usually go during that time hoping to get better bargain.
  6. The green stuffs are eggs alright. Many literature mantioned that it is near impossible to raise them in capitivity due to size of fries and their dietary requirements are unknown. But the good news is that, the eggs are good source of nourishment for your fishes. :-)
  7. Hi reefers & experts, I have just done a little searching on the web and realize that there are two kind of flame scallop although their scientific names are the same (Lima Scabra). However, I realized not much is written on the Electric sp. Most of the literatures spoke about the difficulty of keeping the FC and discouraging reefers from keeping them. However, when I went to www.liveaquaria.com, they classify them differently in term of ease of care. EFS is classified as Moderate whereas FS is classified as Difficult. I belive it is due to the fact that EFS is an Indo Pacific species whereas FS is Carribean - so easier for the Ang Mohs to get info. Thus, I hope that we asians can share some info regarding the EFS and hopefully next time the Ang Mohs will come here to get advise. No seriously, I belive the infos share here will benefits the members and will bring our community to a different plane. So, please contribute whatever you know about EFS here.
  8. Hi Bro, Do we need to delebrately feed the cocos? Are they will survive by filter feeding? So you know, mine is only 1cm, even if I want to feed also know know how.
  9. Hi Weaponmaster, Sorry to read about your predicatment, I guess as you have mentioned "it is a matter of waiting". For me I have two coco about 1cm long only. it came attached to the liferock and it has been growing. I don't really give a hoot about them but the seems to be doing fine.
  10. No mah, mine is a Seahorse tank mah (although it is progressing into a reef tank ). So if I have posted wrongly please bear with me.
  11. No lah, mine is the unidentified $1 ones from Pasir Ris. Saw the scarlet at Bio Ocean but did not buy cuz too big for comfort.
  12. Yah loh, weileong is right. But waht puzzle me is that the last it happen only my kitchen is affected. This time round the whole house is affected. Can anyone advise? Any qualified electrician want to help me?
  13. Quite true also. Unless it is the hawaiian red legged hermit which is considered reef safe by lots of hobbyist. Personally I have a unidentified hermit which never bothers the livestock unless they are dead. But it is better to save than sorry.
  14. So bro, did you dose with Kalk even when using Aragmilk? I am thinking of supplementing with Kalk and eventually use just Kalk as I find Aragamilk too $$$$$.
  15. Hi bro, I am still interested. Let me know OK.
  16. Hi, it is definitely not the Hermit as they only feed on deritus and algae. IMO, I think it is due to the wrasse itself. Cleaner wrasse is well known for not being able to survive in captivity. In fact, most literature calls for the banned or boycott of them. This is because when they are being remove from nature, it cause and exodus and thus the eco-system that it was removed will collapse. If you need a cleaner you may get a cleaner shrimp or a neon goby, they are better choice. Hope this helps.
  17. Same here. I just add more seawater, shake and wahlah! Can be used again. But whether this is the right way or not - I really don't know. Cheers,
  18. Hi bro, I have read your other thread about falling mushroom, and together with what you mentioned in this thread, I feel that you should improve your lighting first. For mushshies have been observed to ditched when they experience harrassment by fishes / inverts or poor lighting conditions. Secondly, could you provide more details on your nutrients export exquipment? What Skimmer you use? What filter? Especially the Skimmer, if you do not have a proper skimmer to start with, you will have problem if you were to dose and supplements. Cus when the supplements are not ultilized they will turn back and haunt you by giving your diatoms & cyno blooms.
  19. Hi bro, Interested in the 6 lined. Can PM or SMS me @ 90121169 where to collect?
  20. Hi roidan, want to post at the bulk purchase section to see anyone wants too.
  21. The washing was do ok when I left the house. I have already fished out the dead but the rest of the livestocks are recovering. They were out "welcoming me" when I approached with their breakfast this morning. Hope that all goes well. Today, is long day and I really hope that all is well at home.
  22. Hi guys, Being a working guy, I left my laundry in the washing machine while I am working so that by the time I am back the laundry will be washed. But yesterday was a nightmare. I went home after a hard day's work and when I reached my carpark I noticed sometime diffrerent, I did not see any familiar blue light coming from my living room window. When I opened, the door, all I saw was darkness and what I hear was total silence, it then dawn on me that I had a power trip! I immediately reset my power supply and rush to my tank. This is the scence I saw: * Cleaner shrimps x 3 all dead * Pepper shrimps x 5 all dead * Xenia x 1 shrink and withered * Leather x 1 withered with figered blackened * Barbouri x 2 lying at the bottom of the tank gasping * Bubble tip Anemone x 1 shrinked and withered * All fish stock (1 x Maroon, 2 x purple firefish, 2 x firefish, 2 x high-finned banned goby, 1 x blue streak goby, 1 x yellow prawn goby) gave me the look that reduces me into a puddle! With this incident it makes me very angry with the WM manufacturer, I always thought that being European made, it will be a better choice due to the integrity in the manufacturing process but I am very wrong. ( I only bought the machine for two years with 2-3 loads of washing per week). The best thing is that after one year the machine stopped at one of the cycle and I have to get the services person to rescue my laundry for $95! The reson of my writing this to to share with you guys my predicament and at the same time get some inputs on how I could have prevented this catastrophe. Please feel free to comments.
