  1. Hi All,

I need some advice for my peace of mind:

    Tank Info:

    * 3x1x1.5 display (will post picture soon)

    * lights T5 aquazonic 2 actinic and 2 white (planning to change to ATI soon plus addition of some LED)

    * with IOS, with rocks and foam(replace every 2 weeks)

    * no sump (as of the moment due to space constraints, planning soon)

    * with separate canister (have from decom freshwater tank last time, so i just put it in)

    * with chiller set to 26ÂșC, tank thermometer shows 27-28, no foam, only coral chips and some ceramics kind of bio filters

    * no skimmer (as of the moment due to space constraints, planning soon)

    * currently ammonia and nirite is zero, the problem is nirate ~40

    * tank is about 7wks+ and my first marine tank

    Need advice:

is the nitrate ~40 detrimental to zoas, octo, glove, mushrooms, gsp, candy, anemone, powder tang, clarkii?

if so, how to reduce? sump, skimmer, etc...?

    thanks

  2. Well, it's a better way to get some banded shrimp to kill the worms... Using your water parameters to kill such a hardy thing like worms is actually not that wise. Whatever that is harming the worms in your water parameters may be harming your beloved livestock too..

    does shrimp eat algae too?

will they not disturb the corals and or bite the fish when sleeping?

  3. Anemone is a walking time bomb. My suggestion is to put it into a QT pail or Tank for it to recover. Putting into the Display Tank is too risky for your live stock.

a lot of people say the tank will crash if anemone die?

i had a 3 weeks anemone in my tank, how to determine if dying to prevent tank crash? ty

  4. Lol idk why r they dying too.. most of them are dead now which is quite good. Cos I dont like those worms..

    Aim and achieve.

i think this is breakthrough if you found the reason, i dont like worms too, next time we can copy what you do that makes the worms die, easier than catching the worms lol....

  5. That's not enough to sustain corals. I suggest using at least 2 white and 2 blue.

Hi what kind of blue? I am reading a lot of different type of blue colors (e.g. actinic, marine blue, royal blue, royal magenta blue, etc....)

Which blue good for coral/fish life sustain?

Which blue good to display luminous coral colors?

  6. i am still wondering how come even the worm or crab is dying in your tank?

i start my tank with live rock with free crabs "some i was able to see and remove, but some able to get thru in my tank, and now i am slowly catching them up" i mean they did not die ;)

try put demsel, lol they will not die, unless your tank parameters is too polluted that is why even crab/worm die :)
