  3. Anybody know what these are in my refugium? Orange looking algae in my mechanical filtration and grey stuff in my live rock and sand section. Need help identifying and whether they need to be removed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Hi all, anyone with experience feeding a pink Dorid nudibranch? Read that it feeds on sponges. Anybody tried alternative feeds successfully? And are there any sponge feeds put there? Also, how do I tell if the nudibranch is going to die? (Just in case I can't feed it successfully) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Update: did a tank clean up and no trace of eel. Not even on the living room floor! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Do tigger pods need specific water parameters to survive? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Don't really wanna raise the sump. Balancing between hiding the unnecessaries and practicality. Currently my sump still provides the function while being hid in the corner and not sticking out like a sore thumb. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. About 15 to 20cm I think? Still can't find it. Not on the floor, not in the tank, not in the pipes and also not in the refugium. R.I.P. Hope someone is full eating it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Does anyone know where I can get a 5/8 inch one way check valve? Want to use it to prevent back flow from main tank to sump invade of power outage. With my current config, a power outage would be a deep sea disaster in my living room. No much space for excess flow in the sump. Any other suggestions to help appreciated. 10. Have a missing garden eel in my tank. Suspected KiA. Really can't find it even after digging through the sand. Really really freaky. Just wondering if a doctor shrimp, 3 turbo snails and 1 starfish could have eaten and broken down the body so it doesn't pollute my tank. Assuming they can find it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Garden eel missing for 10days! Have 3 snails, a starfish, tube worm, doctor shrimp and some fish in my tank. Last sighted under one of the live rocks. Have done 1 water change and 1 rescaping since. Dug through the sand and couldn't find it! Not even a dead skeleton or anything! Freaky! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. oh and current tank temp is 29 degrees. I know its v high. No money to get chiller at the moment. Planning on getting a fan of some kind.
  13. Hi all! I am new to this forum and also new to keeping marine fish. Have a newly set up tank and DIY refugium. Right now I need some help with culturing tigger pods. Purchased a bottle of live tigger pods just last saturday. Placed them in the mid section of my refugium with a bunch of chaeto which I bought from the same shop (photos attached) and turned on my pump. That was in the evening. I checked the tigger pods the next afternoon and they were all gone!!! Specs: There are no fish other other creatures in my refugium. Only the chaeto, live rock and live sand. My pump is 3000 ltr/hr. Main tank size is 72L and about 2.5 metres above the refugium, refugium size about 37L. Currently having a slightly high Nitrate level in my tank. Qn: Could the tigger pods be burrowed under the sand? Is the flow of my pump too strong (doesn't look like) that the pods got pushed into my pump section and then into my main tank? Any advice on how to culture the things? And will the tigger pods ever set up a colony if put inside the main tank or will they just be wiped out? - Andrew
