  1. WTG Six Line Wrasse, beautiful fish, been with me for around a year.

    Reason to give:

If i add new peppermint shrimp the six line eats it immediately, already he ate $30 worth of peppermint shrimps. :angry2:

But it does not attack the 2 Cleaner Shrimp and 1 Fire Shrimp which were added to the tank before the six line. Only new shrimps are attacked.

Good eater and easy to catch because he is the first one to go inside the fish trap to eat... :D

Reply me here, i will contact you...

    Thanks.

  3. I always keep Red Bamboo Algae in my tank, my tanks love it, within 1 week the entire bunch will be eaten....All fat fat....

Also when the fishes are new and when they are not pellet trained, they will feed on this algae.

I put the entire bunch of Red Bamboo inside my tank.

But you might need to face the following problems...

    1. Tangs bite this algae and don't eat 100%, there are small bits and bits of this algae pieces getting collected in my sump.

I bought some disposable filter bags at Daiso, around 60 bags for $2, every day or every alternate day i change and throw these bags, so my main dry filter is not clogged or dirty.

    2. When buying these Red Bamboo from the LFS there are many small critters in it, i have seen some star fish and small crabs and some other insects.

I have a small QT for this red bamboo algae which i keep i low salinity, when ever i buy the new algae, the new one will go to the QT and old ones from the QT will be moved to my sump and then finally to my fishes....

I am not sure that how this algae is good in nutrition export.

  4. Ok Finally narrowed down to the following 3 Models.

    1. AI Hydra 52 - Looks Good but the price is HIGH.

    2. AI Hydra

    3. AI Vega

Hydra 52 is very good and price is also too high.... so if i consider the other two models which is Ai Hydra or AI Vega, which one is the best out of these two.

Read somewhere that AI Hydra is not up-gradable where as AI Vega can be upgraded (don't know what does this means)

Please suggest the best one out of (2) and (3), since (1) is already best, if my budget allows i will buy (1) or else will buy either (2) or (3).

    Thanks for all your suggestions.

  5. also when considering please do remember to do some search on warranty.

Meaning when things go wrong what will happen to your equipment, will there be a replacement? will there be a loan while yours is fix? etc.

by reminding you this does not mean that maxspect or AI local distributor are not reliable, this is just a general reminder because being a consumer myself i often forgot this point until when things breaks down!

    hahaha

Thanks for the information, will also consider and will check with the local distributor.

  6. you dont need hydra 52.

its for deeper tanks. if you want to go for hydra52.. hang very high up and you can get the spread but i doubt it will be practical and nice.

hydra and vega should do the job.

You mean Hydra 52 will be overkill for my tank?

Unfortunately i am not able to hang up the LED lights to the ceiling, i prefer to use the rails or other options

  7. Yeah bro, definitely go for either the new model of maxspect, i.e razor, the g2 not controllable. Or go for AI. Im using the maxspect razor 10k, 16k is the best. I didnt even know about kelvin rating, and was given the 10k without knowing. Should have read up more.

Thanks for the information bro, I also know only very less information about LED, that's why getting the seniors suggestions.

Considering either Razor 300W 16K or AI Hydra 52.

Im also not sure about the kelvin ratings.

  8. Probably only the ai hydra or hydra52 is comparable to the razor. You get better control for the the hydra too. Razor only has 2 channels and sunrise sunset effect. No fancy cloudy or storm effect. As for price a single 300w should be slightly cheaper then 2 ai hydra and quite a bit cheaper den 2 ai hydra52

Hi Bro, Thanks for your suggestion, i goooooooooogled about the AI Hydra Models, Hydra 52 also very nice.

I agree to your point that Razor has only the sunrise and sunset effect, (2 Channels - i dont know what these channels are used for)

Regarding the cost, Razor is around $1200 and Hydra 52 is around $900 per unit, for my 4 feet tank i will need two units of Hydra 52 which is around $1800, i think we need to buy the controllers and the rails/mounting system separate, so all together Hydra52 will cost around $2k, correct me if i am wrong....

The Hydra got the wireless controller, Lighting & passing cloud effects, Moon phase.... seems good....

The price of Hydra 52 is almost double as the Razor 300W..

I am not expert of LED, so i can cant compare these two models, tried to search for the comparison but cant find any.....

From my view with Hydra 52, i only get the extra passing clout effect + Lighting Effects + the Wireless controller.

Another advantage is, if i am upgrading to a bigger tank or downgrading to a smaller tank, i can reuse Hydra 52 by adding/removing the units.

Experts please suggest, which one to choose Razor 300W or AI Hydra 52.

    :thanks:

  9. Having a sump is better, when i had only the tank without sump, it was getting quiet messy with HOB Skimmers and Filters and Lights and hanging around, after upgrading to a tank with sump, now feel more comfortable.

Easy to change water and add supplements and maintenance is also easy.
