  1. Star polyps does not require high intensity lighting,

moderate lighting eg.mushrooms is already good

enough. Your tank might also be running low on iodide

    or other elements. :lol::D:)

STAR POLYPS is talking about himself. (look at his nick)

So he must be right.:P

sori off topic, :off: but just in jest. :P;)

  2. live and let live. :P

i am sure seller/giver understands now and will forgive. :peace:

buyer/taker already admitted and also apologized. :peace:

if seller/giver can take the lead and give a "virtual" expression of forgiveness in this thread, i am sure a lot of reefers can learn from this show of grace. :peace::peace:

my $0.02 and sori if i fail to help in a reconciliation.

  3. in case you have a clown which co-exist with the anemone, then watch for the clown's behaviour as well.

if the clown is avoiding the anemone, then it's probably a tell tale sign of imminent death of the anemone. saying this through my last experience.

  4. i am using one and my son is using another.

both Philips and are good for running under a tap to clean.

however need to find out the model numbers of each.

    will let you know.

meantime, don't shave and let the mustachos grow.:lol:

  5. The Bivalve you have might be a Spiny/Thorny Oyster Sponylus sp..

Here some write up on it, may be will help in your pricing. ;)

    Spondylus sp.

    Spondylus varius

    Ups. ;)

wow, bro gouldian, you're indeed knowledgeable and resourceful.:bow: many thanks for the link. :thanks:

i have re-examined the bivalve and indeed there are spikes around and i could even see the numerous "eyes". :P

the bivalve is some kind of a thorny oyster or spiny oyster.

  6. there are seven frags altogether. at least that's what i can see, but may be one or two small ones hidden. :D:rolleyes:

as to the varieties, i could see either four or five diffent types. :P

for those who have pmed me, i apologize if i did not get back to you as i really don't know how much to sell for. :peace: with a unique piece like this, it is hard to determine the price. :P

  7. It is possible to sue the management of Sentosa for the inadequate/ill positioning of its signages warning beach goers of the possible dangers or "uninvited guests"

hence it'll become a case of becasue you( sentosa mng) knew about the dangers, but you (sentosa mng) obviously did not seem very interested to tell me (the guy who got stung) cuz your 1 and only sign is way over there (points to a far far away place near the lifeguard tower)

in civil cases, almost everything can be brought to court, just how well ur lawyers presents the case to prevent it from being thrown out by the judge.

are u a law student, or becoming a lawyer or even studied commercial laws?

i agree with you as such issues are covered under "law of torts".

  8. yellow anemone are usually dyed IMO....jus look out b4 u buy any anemones... :D

y dun u try the red carpet?...hardy and dere is a great chance ur maroon will go into it.. :D

by any chance you have a pic of a red carpet anemone.

otherwise can point me to a link to view pic. :thanks:

  9. bro Nautical, is your config same as mine (input output in the same compartment)?

pump is placed in the second compartment of sump tank. this is where the water got pumped into the chiller.

the water from the chiller is then output into the third compartment. try to put the hose near the return pump. in this way, the chilled water got sucked into the return pump fast so that it goes to the main tank asap.

    hope it helps.
