  1. Morgan, you do know that I'll be checking your new tank out again very soon, right?
  2. Hi guys, Recently paid the Bloomberg office a visit again. As some of you might know, there are about 5 or 6 reef tanks in there. This time I noticed something which was very different from the way I usually stack my rocks. Usually, I have them way up high in the water column, sometimes even protruding from the water surface, and there is usually a cave beneath them. This height is usually reserved for light loving corals or clams. I saw a tank there that has sort of low lying rocks, with at least 2ft of water above the highest piece of rock - this gives the tank a capacity to accomodate more fishes I think, especially those that are constantly swimming above the rocks in actual reefs. Also a fish could now swim right across the tank without running into any obstacles, and yet have the safety of running for cover within the rock structures beneath it. This is partly the reason why I am selling some of my precious live rocks right now. I have re-stacked some of the rockwork - and would contribute a picture soon. Cheers....
  3. CT, you could have gotten some LR from me at only $3 per kg.. i would never pay $20/kg for ROCKS
  4. thats all for pics...somemore i cant seem to post the pics in a right way...they are all on one side of the screen, so weird... I stay somewhere near Tiong Bahru..rocks are going for $3/kg...so far about 15kg of it have been placed under order, if the buyers follow up that is.
  5. Last shot...but not the last piece...BTW, one of the guys is coming to get abt 10kg thereabouts...so there are 15kg remaining...contact me at 98769587

  9. Hi - knowing how scarce Live Rock is lately, would anybody care to acquire some from me? I just took them out of the tank last nite...and they housed in tubs of saltwater now - hurry and get them while they are still fresh...otherwise you would have to cure them longer than you would need to! If anyone could show me how to post pictures, I'd gladly display a few here! thanks!!
  10. Yep...PADI I'm pretty sure I would take my advance, but not sure when. Total dives including pool?Well, that would be 7. 2 days in pool, and 5 dives total at Tioman. Cheers!
  11. Didnt take any photos leh, wanted to bring me G2, but I was afraid to leave it in the room lest it got stolen..and was afraid to bring in onto the boat lest it got wet....but did managed to take a couple of shots using frens cameras, but they werent underwater pics, so you guys wouldnt be interested..haha...
  12. Posted this msg at the Pasar Malam section too as a direct reply... Hi guys, Guess what??I survived TIOMAN...haha...anywayz...it was better than I expected, but worse than I hoped it would be..... There was nothing I didn't see snorkeling at Redang that I couldn't see scuba diving at Tioman...perhaps I was a little bit unlucky though, cos some of my mates managed to catch glimpses of a sea turtle, and some saw barracudas...there was also mention of a near metre in diameter jellyfish that was prancing about during one of the dives...abit confused there abt barracudas and needle fish, anyone can elaborate on the differences?? I thought wat I saw were baby barracudas while at Redang, they schooled and some were alone, but when I pointed one out at Tioman looking from above water level, I was told it's a needle fish...hmm... Bottom line, I had fun diving! And would love to take my advance diver soon...at this time, perhaps the cheap and nice place to take that is clear of the monsoon would be in Thailand??? Am i right?

  14. Will definitely use one if I had the means...to get one and to maintain one!
  15. I have only used a few commercial salts so far - but I can safely say that in my opinion... Reef Crystals - The very first type I used when starting out - no idea cos a friend helped me with the setup. But I think its price is not worth its value. Deep Ocean - has average solubility and is an overall average salt. Not expensive and it works fine - recommended for FOWLR system Instant Ocean - kind of overhyped on foreign forums, so I thought I'd try it but it turned out to be rather bad on solubility, I will not use this salt if I can help it. Tropic Marin - present stuff I am using, good solubility, seems great for corals.Price is a little higher than average but still affordable. My 2 cents worth...
  16. Ya, I have a major headache dealing with this. My place is not the most spacious of homes, alas! And it would take days before anything is done. The thing is ...I don't know where to start!!?! By the way, guys, I am going to take my open water cert this weekend at Tioman - wish me luck!!
  17. Yep.... But I can't decide now...I have to be able to sell the present one first even before I do anything...that's why...looks like there isn't any takers...sighhhh
  18. Hey AT, seems like there's nothing that's beyond you so far....woah, underwater photography, scuba diving, have a nice big tank, sounds like you are the marine guru man..heh.. anywayz...how much did you get your Ikelite housing for?? i would think that it costs more than the G2 itself, yah??I got a G2 too by the way...and is hopefully picking up the ropes of scuba...heh Cheers!
  19. The tank can be viewed online at www.arofanatics.com/members/loonz. Dimensions 36" x 20" x 23" (LxBxH)...thereabouts. The tank has been running since 2000. I'm selling it 'cos I really want to upgrade to a bigger tank. Lights are 4x36W power compacts, with 2x30W actinic blue NO. Chemically filtered by chemipure and polyfilter through an Eheim Pro 2223, attached to a surface extractor. 4 x Hagen 402 powerheads and 1x Hagen 301 powerhead circulates the water. Apprx 3.5"-4" of DSB, and a tank full of liverock, and coralline algae abundant. Fish includes 1 small yellow tang, 1 regal tang, 1 hawaiian kole tang and 1 purple firefish.
  20. Sorry for the poor quality pics taken, haven't been taking any nice ones ever since i lost my N95... :(
