  1. Hi guys, how about other corals? How do we feed them? ie: Elegance corals, star polyps, yellow polyps, bubble, cat's eye all LPS etc... Can someone guide? Thank you.
  2. I see your idea now. That means before the territorial fish can attack the new fish, it will have to first swim near and up and see it's own image and so-called attack itself first(this will keep it busy), and not disturb the new fish which is in the Quarantine tank. I see. But lets say if you released the new fish, and remove the Quarantine tank, why would the territorial fish still wants to swim towards the mirror? Because it is so used to swimming to the mirror? I think this idea may be workable. Because the terroritorial fish can never win the fish that is in the mirror... haha (it reminded me when we fight fighting spiders using mirrors in the past)
  3. I actually asked the same questions to importing clams and marine fishes and invertebrates from Indonesia and Msia. AVA replied me that each person can bring in a certain number of quantities. Different mode of travel, ie car, ferry, or walking through woodlands, have different quantities you can take. But as for Air, I think you have first to pass the 100ml water mark nowadays. Unless you risk putting them in your luggage where you pray that they won't fling your baggages during dispatching(which is impossible). You can write email to AVA, coz my replies from them was 2 yrs back, who knows they might have some changes now. But their answer is quite swift.
  4. My calcium was 500 last Sat, although I haven't keep a clam yet, I believe other LPS corals does consume abit of everything also, right? Is keeping Calcium at 500 alright for LPS and Clams keeping? How about fishes? Will 500 Ca give problems to fishes and shrimps?
  5. Sorry bro, too cheem for me to understand. Coz why will the aggressive fish still swim towards the mirror where the quarantine tank was when the new fish isn't there anymore? Although if it sees its own mirror image and will attack "itself", it will not swim there in the first place what since, it's empty(with the new fish not there anymore). Maybe too cheem for newbie like me to undersand... can make simpler terms please?
  6. You mean to quarantine the new fish with a mirror, or separate the territorial fish in quarantine cage with mirror?
  7. Didn't really have any fishes added yet. Only a small size six line wrasse
  8. I'm surprised! New learnings to me… Thank you for guiding me, Wanwan Bro!
  9. Yah lor. Now headache, as need to make changes. The professional who sold me the Eheim pump told me it was a 4500L/H pump and it will circulate 10x my flow which is correct. I was really trusting to him. But end up after I started to be more involved in the whole system, I realize it was only a 2400L/H pump.. That is why in the beginning of the conversation I told everyone my pump is Eheim 1260 with 4500L/H flow rate, and someone challenge me that my pump should be Eheim 1264 if 4500L/H. Guess, a newbie still has to learn his lesson through some hard ways...
  10. Yup, all filtration and rock-scaping done up! But will try to enjoy this hobby slowly, and will bring my wife along to shop for fishes of her likings as well. And aid her to enjoy this hobby as much as me. *Hopefully*
  11. Hi Wanwan, saying growing algae in sump refers to using equipment like algae scrubber? Or some natural way of doing so? Can share with us? Thanks.
  12. OMG! I did a check on my pump. It's a Eheim 1260, which only has a flow rate of 2400L/H. My tank is a 4 feet tank, which only adds up to about 400+ litres, not including the sump yet!! After checking, I think only a 1264 Eheim pump is sufficient for my tank with a flow rate of 4500L/H. Need to find one from Pasar Malam, hope someone has one for sale soon, so that I can have it replaced.
  13. Bro andtsg, thank you for your reply. It serves as a positive note to me, that I can still keep a small size Archillies tang, and wait for it to grow big before re-homing" it. Thanks, bro.
  14. LOL. Short simple, straight to the point logical answers. And I like them. Yah, no point feeding anything which they don't eat. However, re-homing an outgrown fish posts greater challenge to me. Its a point t note for me.
  15. Hi guys, in order to so-called have a good water condition, can I know what is the correct spec for : Nitrate, Phosphate, Calcium and KH? Can anyone help on this? Thanks.
  16. OMG! I have a urge to keep an Archillies Tang after my 4 feet really stables down. Is it true that a 4 feet cannot keep Archillies Tang? Does someone who keeps Archllies tang have other advises for me? Thank you.
  17. Hi guys, I'm new to marine. Can I know what is the best to feed fishes? I see many people have different opinions on feeding. Some pellets, some sea monkeys, Mysis shrimps, krills etc. What brand of pellets is most suitable for marine fishes? Can someone guide me on this? Thank you.
  18. And also, how do you feed an anemone? I posted in another topic, but no one replies me. I'm new to this, and really need to be humble to ask more questions to learn and abstain from livestocks becoming dead-stocks. Can aso guide on feeding Anemone? Thank you in advance.
  19. Hi bro, what happens if the anemone have chocolate sludge fluid coming out from it's mouth? Is this normal, or it means that the anemone is on its way to heaven? Can advise me too?
  20. Hi guys, what do you al mean by feeding the corals? How to feed? I'm new to this hobby. Can someone guide me? How and what to feed for LPS?
  21. Hi Guys, I have just completed my cycling for my 4 feet tank using a 3yr old bacteria king bought from a TOTQ reefer. I have just added in 3 LPS corals, 2 cleaner shrimps, and 1 small-size six line wrasse, yesterday. However, my skimmer pump is spoiled(bought second hand), can I know what would be the survival rate if I only add in skimmer by next week? (I will do minimal feeding and no more adding livestock until skimmer is functional). Any advise?
  22. Nope! He removed from his sump tank to pass me on the day of collection. I got it from him in pail with his saltwater. So all BB should still be valid. The issue is, is there a need to replace, or top up bacteria king?
  23. Any seniors in the reef club has experience on how to successfully keep the off-spring of cleaners shrimps that was spawned thrive? I recalled many were end up free food for tank mates or down and under into the overflow sump... trapped and gonez... Does anyone has knowledge on keeping and feeding?
  24. Hi Guys, I'm new to Marine keeping. I am currently still cycling my 4 feet tank, and keeping clams is one of my chosen option. However, I see that there can be rather stringent criterias I need to watch and take care of before I keep one. Can someone please gide me to successful clam keeping? I only wish to keep easy clams, for variety purpose, not those expensive clams... Can someone guide me how to feed a clam too? And what to feed as well. Thanks.
