Hi ... Wanted to create a list of fish references that are reef safe for fellow reefers to refer to before introducing to their reef tank. The list here should be input by reefer themselves having success in keeping the type of fish in their reef tank (SPS/LPS/Softies/Mix) and not taping on other reefer's successful experience. If your OF's top is lower than the tank's than easy... just let the water fill all the way to the top of the OF and flow down in the OF lor ... if scare of fish kanna sucked in .. use those plastic netting or you can buy a cheap plastic basket (those got lots of holes one) and cut to shape then secure it at the top edage of your OF will do the trick. I saw one of Iwarna's tank did the same way...

thanks. iewnehz, yes, i have redo the branches... the initial layout was nice to look at, but not practical as i can not place many corals on to it... so make it more flat as i intend to pack corals around the branches... what you are seeing it only 40% of what i intend to put in the tanks... so still have a long way to go... taking my own sweet time to do this.

hi Riot, There are about 14 holes (7 on each side) on the OF. my return is about 2500l/hr, after considering the height loss of 2 meters from the return pump (rated 5000l/hr) to the tank. Is your OF the same height as your tank ?

gosh ... yesterday when watching my fishes, i saw a little (1.5cm) worm like, flat and white color clawing on the glass wall.. just one ... and i thought probably no harm and i just leave it alone. is that a flat worm ? ... then i need to spot it again and terminate it..

any benefit a sea cucumber brings to the marine tank ? ... eat algae ? move sand ? ... anything like that ?

wait wait ... will post the whole tank pic later ... now only 50% stocked .. the pics are taken using a digital camera's multi-shot feature, one snap take 16 pics within about 20 seconds time frame.. after which just use a free-ware GIF animation software to compile all the 16 pics to one loop animation gif... CHEERS!

After reading AT’s view on the trend of behavior in SRC lately, I share the same sentiment, being a young SRC member myself (2 months only), I find this forum to be useful especially for newbie like myself to learn and search for reefing information. I do pick up lots of useful techniques, methods of reefing from the more experience reefers here but lately I noticed that there isn’t a lots of serious discussion about reefkeeping, now a days, most thread are dominated by “small talk” be it jokes, or other unrelated comments, etc. (I think most, if not all of us including myself, are guilty) and these make the thread (replies) to be ridiculously long which makes it very hard to find quality information discussed in the thread without having to follow through the hundreds of replies.. (Keyword search isn’t really helpful sometimes). Maybe some kind of control can be imposed.. (Its just my opinion, hope nobody get offended).

tank water was a bit blur for the past few days ... then someone taught me to use Chemi-Pure and well it work ! ... now my tank water is clearer now.. thank you har ! ..
