    Some updates!

So i bought a regal angel and a baby (1.5")emperor angel a week ago and they have been doing great!

The regal is eating very well on pellets but the baby emperor is only picking on the rocks for now.

Kinda sucks that my relatively new LED's blue led suddenly spoil couple days ago so only the white leds are lighting up the tank.

    Also added some new LRs

    This weeks' new addition,

a Sub-adult changing blue-face angel, it got chased by the regal and has been hiding for the past 2 days, but doing relatively well.

So as the title states, I've been dealing with high nitrate levels in my tank for some time now. No matter how many water changes I perform, it doesn't seem to go away. Could it be that the rock is leaching nitrates into my tank? If so, is there any way to remove the nitrates from the rock? Also is there any kind of filter media that you would reccommend for dealing with this?

how long has your tank been running? what type of rock is it?  @Mike Stone is right.  please share details of your bioload, amount of rock, filtration system you're using.

  4. When they are ready they will hatch about and hour after lights out. If you want to save them from being fish food in the morning is to catch them with a fry trap. Easy to make a DIY one. Then you will need 'green water' and rotifers.  Lots of fun to raise clown fish but quite time consuming.

  5. I recently experienced my GSP close up for 2+ months only for them to come back to full strength over a period of a week. Water parameters we're consistent and nothing else changed in my tank during this period all the other coral (zoas/LPS/SPS) were healthy and growing.

One therory is that the GSP may have been bothered by asterina starfish.. I've a noticed a few in my tank (I pull them out when I can).

  6. As long as it doesn't go all slimy then it should eventually open back up. Sounds like it didn't like the glue or it doesn't like the location/water flow in the tank.  Some times they can be closed up for a few weeks as the acclimate to a new tank.
