How often u change the filter wool? or never?
souphamster replied to souphamster's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
i had bought a expensive so called all multi purpose wool which cost me $12 i think for just one pad from Sealife. i did not change this pad althought it is brown n dirty, i only change the cheap wool then. SO, i suppose its ok rite? or do i need to wash n spray clean the expensive wool? or my black carbon? hm... carbon no need rite? leave it rite? -
extract from a website := *** FAQ: Q. What's the difference between all the daylight bulbs? A. Here’s the best way to summarize it: 5,000K = Warm daylight, slight hint of yellow when fired next to a 10,000K. Great for freshwater fish and plant tanks. 6,700K = Nice white, not as visually bright as a higher K bulb. Not as yellow as a 5,000K, also great for freshwater fish and plants. 8,800K = Strong, bright, crisp light, comparable to 10,000K. 10,000K = Bright crisp white light. *i am thinking later, maybe going to nature aquarium to buy one 2' 10'000k light, but not sure if white or 50white/50blue is better! Please advise???

hi, yesterday i changed my filter wool, 2 pads. I leave the coral stones, and a few other wools that are already there when i set up. Is it ok? normally, do u guys change a new white wool to subsitute the dirty ones(of cos must leave some good bacteria wools in there). Or , u wash it with water till 'not so dirty' (it cant be as new as white), then replace??? cos last time, i always use this method when changing the filteration for my freshwater tank.. Please advise ....

i want to give up my sponge.. too bulky for my 2 feet tank. Orange colour some more, i have read up that if the sponge is expose to air, even when transfer out ot tank so on, this will affect the passage way of the sponge. The sponge will die...

mi also poor... can debate if marine keeping is for rich people ? he he he.. i am in ns some more.. worst case.. after CNY, maybe going to jb to buy ps2 games in order to make me divert my attention for my tank to get stable and not getting more fishes from LFS. Never ending story for marine fish keeping, that is why 'keep' here, refers to keep buying.. hee

ai yo... tell u wat.. the ###### girl got come to forum one lei.. wait she kill u all.. ha ha ha.. she's nice , i always ask her lots of questions and feedback the prices are ex so on.. ... she also never complaint much.. quite good and friendly.. good attitude, doesnt give u that kind of dun buy dun touch attiude, so i dun mind paying a few dollars more.. i have been to this Harlequin twice, i dun deny the set up and the way they place their corals nicely and healthy, But then, the bosses are rather unfriendly sort(no offend). They are like hack care about customers, maybe they are busy at the moment i was there. anyway, the price there are not cheap either.. . ...

When will it ever grow up?
souphamster replied to Dinosaur's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
ha ha ha... :x i wanted to get one actually that time.. but after knowing that it will change it's colour when adult, i drop the idea. This is a real beautiful fish, now knowing that yours already 2 yrs old + still haven change, i think i might as well add one more fish into my tank ... i like the pattern actually.. not the adult stage loh.. hee... maybe will be changing soon... good luck... but as for myself, i hope it remains like this.. more unqiue...
