  1. temp fluctuation will be the biggest problem for an office tank. also, not advisable to keep 2 maroons in a 2G tank. maybe just a shrimp and 1 small goby?
  2. can i trouble you to take a pic of your back chambers and how the chiller pipes (inlet and outlets) are placed? thanks
  3. how about some info on the specs & a full tank pic? especially the chiller hookup
  4. the 2 holes are for wires to come out of the hood cleanly. suggest you cut another 2 openings for the pipings. then you can explore using a sump. chiller can be hooked to the sump, then can add nice skimmer too... wah the possibilties ! how about using an ibox for overflow?
  5. lovely zoos u have... and the black clowns ...sweet! was in perth for 2 yrs but did not come across any marine shops... where did you go to?
  6. which model is your 24G? the DX model with 2x36W PL with moonlights? anyway, you can add another 2 cpu fans into the hood to cool things down. like this bro here http://www.nano-reef.com/forums/index.php?...topic=53179&hl= my 24G has 4x36PL and 5 fans. 4 fans in the hood and 1 fan attached to the back of the hood blowing into it. i cut 2 rectangular openings in the back of the light hood near the 2 hinges. attached 1 fan to blow into one of the openings and the hot air will flow out of the other opening. with this, my tank never goes above 30C with 144W PL. temp ranges from 27.5-29.5. pretty good considering it's in my study that gets the afternoon sun and windows hardly open (staying ground floor). i top-up about 1L every 3 days though. ice-probe - wouldn't fit unless you drill the tank. chiller - possible, need to cut the hood to accomodate the pipings. fans - easier and cheaper
  7. hmmm... if reefdepot is selling at that price, wooo... interesting
  8. looks good but did you guys check out the price? and that's excluding shipping cost.
  9. how long have you had your clowns? my pair did the same thing when i 1st got them. after a couple of weeks, they decided it was "safe" to venture the tank and looking to host something. mine tried the zoos for a while but settled on the octo.
  10. 3 fishes in a 2ft is pretty ok since you have a prizm skimmer helping you. just remember to keep up with the water changes. one concern would be the sunburst. anthais like open space to swim so the sunburst might feel abit restricted. also, anthais are fed rather frequently. need to check on this cos overfeeding might give you problems. adding in corals are ok as long as done in stages, not too many in one shot. note that fishes tolerate nitrate much better than corals. flame angel might nip on some corals i think, better check. btw, how's the sunburst doing?
  11. how long have you had your clam? doing well doesn't mean it's still alive after a couple of months. it may be alive but it may just be slowly degenerating. not to pour cold water on you but until you upgrade your lights, your clam's not going to be very happy. oh yah, u monitor your calcium?
  12. how much/often/what are you feeding? how many fish? how often you change water? do you use tap water for topping up? what's your light duration? what kind of light tubes? basically, 1. feed less 2. reduce bioload if u have more than 2 fishes 3. increase water change frequency until cyno goes away. manually remove the cyno during water change. change 10-15% every 3 days. 4. try to get DI water or use stuff like rowaphos to reduce PO4 levels. 5. increase flow. 6. remove your clam until you get some decent lights like T5 HO. more info on cyno can be found here
  13. ya la, sms nvr say US zoos but AA usually brings in those mah sry folks for jumping the gun

  15. thanks bro hmmm... will do my sums and hopefully can afford. i thought the fortuner was very popular when launched with many units booked. but how come seldom see on the roads? another thing is that since it's so high, scared cannot enter some carparks... framerunner, i second stabilo's vote for the golf! one sweet car!
  16. this round of coe prices really tempting me to scrap my car and get my dream car (at the moment) SUV .. toyota fortuner! being a 1st time car owner, there's some noob questions i hope u bros wouldn't mind helping me with say my parf & coe rebate value when scrap is ard 40k and my outstanding loan is 50k. does this mean that i would have to fork out at least 10k++ even though i trade in my car? looking for the cheapest way to get my dream car la anyone willing to explain to me how this parf/coe rebate thingy works?

  22. are they trying to host some corals like zoos, hammers, etc? the small black dots (non-raised) should be from the coral stings. http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthre...threadid=466874
